VCS is looking for the Sales & Marketing Manager with experienced background in marine/shipping/logistics industry.

The company is one of the oldest ports in Yangon, located near the heart of downtown on the banks of the Yangon River, and has been the main port handling Myanmar’s shipping cargo since colonial times. It is now being renovated and revamped for modernization to be competing with not only local, but international ports regionally. As Sales and Marketing Manager, you are responsible the for Sales & Marketing strategy in close collaboration with the Owner’s Management team. Your efforts are focused on attracting/retaining customers and developing new revenue streams.

An opportunity to take up a challenging function and be part of locally operated company and fast-paced environment. You will be working with partners, shareholders and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the translation of the Sales & Marketing strategy into business targets, budgets and tangible commercial plans, based on the departments KPI’s and in line with the organizational strategy.
Responsible for budget preparations and monitoring.
Responsible for retaining existing customers.
Responsible for attracting new customers, identifying and developing business opportunities.
Key responsible for the development of land-side and hinterland connections.
Responsible for establishing and retaining a highly professional relationship with all customers, key accounts, local and international port users.
Drive and manage the customer value proposition.
Drive, develop and deploy best practices within the department, including for pricing, service, promotion, advertising and PR & media.
Oversee the preparation of tariffs, cost analyses and comparative studies/reports.
Analyze marketing programs and adjust the strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.
Responsible for creative improvements to existing systems, practices & approaches if necessary, to meet customer needs, which might influence productivity & working methods.
Assist when necessary in establishing or reviewing customs and other external procedures affecting port users.
Close collaboration with the Operational Department to check customer requirements with operational capabilities.

Job Requirements

A bachelor or master degree in business, marketing or related discipline.
At least 10 years of direct marketing/sales experience in the shipping business, transportation or related industry.
Several years of management experience with good leadership skills.
A broad and international experience and a proven track record within B2B Sales & Marketing.
Requires excellent knowledge of English.

• Ability to work with confidence both locally and globally.
• Strong negotiating skills and able to build and maintain relationships on all levels.
• Able to travel (short/long distance) if required.
• Possesses tact and cultural understanding.
• Targeted, energetic and able to motivate other people.
