PURPOSE STATEMENT:Responsible for financial reporting, period close, book keeping and book hygiene. The job holder will need to have good financial acumen, along with knowledge of statutory reporting requirements in addition to having good people skills for cross-departmental coordination.DIMENSIONS• Strategic Scope - Process execution • Reporting Level – Manager of Self• Geographic scope – End market/Area/Region• Business Complexity – by exceptionPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (Role Outputs, Management Control and Governance Responsibilities)• Close period end on a timely basis, while ensuring good book hygiene• Quarterly Preparation, consolidation, system validation of accounts and schedules• Provide support in HY, interim and FY audit• Ensure control is maintained over systems and processes• Utilize SAP, HFM & BPC for period closing and actual reporting• Provide relevant and high quality financial analysis to enhance decision making, thus optimising the business units financial performance within the overall corporate strategy• Interpret reports and data using a range of techniques and tools and communicates to business and financial colleagues, providing technical support and advice to internal customers • Use judgement to assess whether data should be analysed at a macro or micro level• Develop, present and champion recommendations to top teams on actions to drive business results• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness• Source external and internal benchmarks against which to measure performance and areas for improvement CORE RELATIONSHIPS Internal• Finance Business partners and Finance centres of excellence - collaborate to provide end to end finance delivery for regions / areas / end markets• Finance Shared Services Centre - Collaborate closely with Finance Shared Service centres to provide high quality, timely management information to the business• Business unit mangers – credible and strong working relationship. Leads and/or contributes to agreed governance forums and processes. External• External Auditors
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE• Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MBA)• Experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment • Understand the impact of the accounting process and practice;• Understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and data;• Understand and apply relevant financial skills and knowledge.• A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically SAP• Broad experience in large global organisation with in depth knowledge in specific FMCG process areas;• Influencing and good interpersonal skills
