Job Description

The Assistant Marketing Manager will play a key role in the newly established marketing department and support the development of a marketing function in the Institution. This position will contribute to, and support, the execution of marketing strategies and tactics to attract, retain and grow the Institution’s client base, as well as internal marketing efforts. S/he will work under the supervision and guidance of the Marketing Manager to manage all external and internal marketing and related activities for DAWN.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager, Operations and other key internal teams, including field staff, to ensure effective and timely implementation of all marketing-supported sales processes and activities in the field, such as product launches and campaigns, client education and promotions to support sales.
- Lead the development and production of marketing and communications materials, sales tools and collateral, and other support materials, in collaboration with key internal teams and external marketing partners.
- Consult with Admin team to ensure all in-branch collateral, including signage, brochures, promotional items and other marketing-related inventory are current and available.
- Organize and manage all digital brand and marketing assets (logos, photos, videos and other creative assets), ensuring they are properly named, stored and archived as needed.
- Produce and manage content/editorial calendars.
- Develop and manage content for all marketing channels, including the company website and social media accounts.
- Write, edit and proof copy in English and Myanmar, translating between the two languages as needed.
- Collaborate with Talent Management team on internal marketing initiatives, including the monthly employee newsletter, and support employee engagement activities.
- Support the development and implementation of the brand building program.
- Ensure brand messaging, voice and creative elements are consistent across all marketing channels.
- Track, measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing materials, communications and campaigns.
- Create marketing project plans and budgets.
- Assume management duties in the Marketing Manager’s absence.
- Regular visits to DAWN branches for project implementation and to monitor compliance on marketing policy and practices and provide technical guidance to field staff as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, public relations or related discipline.
- At least three years of direct experience marketing products and services to consumers, in another corporate marketing department or an agency.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills. One to two years of supervisory or management experience an asset.
- Ability to connect well with people at all levels of the organization, especially field staff.
- Comfortable spending significant time in the field, interacting with clients and field staff.
- High proficiency in MS Office required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and email marketing tools such as MailChimp an asset.
- Work-related experience with social media platforms. Experience using social media as a customer service tool an asset.
- Knowledge of design and brand principles, as well as production planning requirements, including layout, file formats, colour profile, and other specifications.
- Knowledge of low-income and micro, small and medium enterprise markets, particularly their language set and vocabulary, an asset.
- Knowledge of financial services industry an asset.
- Highly developed editing, copywriting and/or creative writing skills.
- Excellent English Language skills required.
