Description – summary of dutiesAs an Assistant Teacher, you will be supporting the Class Teacher with teaching, lesson planning, preparation of the learning environment (both indoor and outdoors), small group activities and other duties/responsibilities assigned by the Class Teacher. Overview of Responsibilities:1. Be able to focus the learning and teaching on the individual interests and needs of each child. 2. Maintain and develop quality within the learning programme and environment.3. Assist the class teacher in monitoring child development, achievement and progress through effective planning and observations.4. Liaise with the class teacher on a daily basis and with the wider Foundation Stage team on a regular basis.5. Assist the class teacher with clear and concise communication to parents.6. Set up resources and the learning environment as required by the class teacher.7. Provide support for or extend children’s learning as necessary.
Skills and Experience Required:• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (in a relevant field);• Hold relevant qualifications such as TEFL and/or TESOL;• Have a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in an international school environment), working with the same age group;• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills;• Be fluent in spoken and written Myanmar and have excellent spoken and written English;• Strong computer skills;• Show excellent use of initiative and motivation;• Be a strong team player;• Be highly flexible and adaptable;• Demonstrate excellent organisational skills;• Have a good understanding of the benefits of learning through play and outdoor learning.
