The role holder would be responsible for undertaking branch banking internal audit processes on the field and ensure effective execution of the same in line with organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
• Execute the branch banking audit plan and ensure effective implementation of the same in collaboration with the superiors
• Identify and document control and process weaknesses and provide evidential support for findings
• Conduct design and transaction-level testing and offer recommendations for mitigating potential risks
• Recommend initiatives (wherever noted) to address control weaknesses and process inefficiencies
• Keep updates on regulatory requirements and guidelines applicable for the branch banking audits
• Participate in closure meetings with the Branch Audit Supervisor / Branch Audit Manager / Branch Banking Audit Head highlighting the open audit issues
• Provide trends of issues observed over the past audits to the Branch Audit Supervisor and Manager, seeking corrective action to be taken in respect of the observed trends
• Work closely with branches to ensure effective roll-out and completion of audit activities
• Observe confidentiality procedures, register and track accountable documentation to ensure security and control
• Provide Branch Audit Supervisor with regular progress reports and information in an accurate and timely manner and/or as requested
• Convert data and information into excel charts, graphs and powerpoint presentations, as per the requirement
• Prepare work papers and ensure consistency between audit objectives, work program, audit testing, supporting evidence, and audit findings
• Build effective working relationships with other team members and employees conducive to positive collaborations and team efforts that contribute to bank’s overall success
• Keep abreast of new developments, methods and techniques in banking industry
• Replace other audit executives in their absence and assist to manage their work
• Take responsibility for self-development, completion of training programs/certifications

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in accounting and auditing, business administration or economics from an accredited university in Myanmar
• Intermediate level of English language (Written and spoken)
• Intermediate level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook)
• Preferred with basic knowledge of audit software and banking software
• Fundamental understanding of applicable laws including Myanmar Financial Institutions Law, regulations, directives, instructions and guidelines issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar
• 0 to 2 years of experience in public accounting firm or in internal audit
• Basic knowledge of Banking Industry and standard audit practices and ability to apply them;
• Ability to work in teams as well as individually
• Good investigative skills and attention to details
• Good knowledge of financial and operational audit; including bank or financial institution policies and procedures;
• Ability to assist in implementation of internal audit program for a bank;
• Good communication skills
