Job Description

A Great Opportunity for ...

Campaigning
• Lead the design and delivery of Save the Children's Every Last Child (ELC) Campaign in Myanmar 2019-21, including co-ordination of activities across departments and teams in the Myanmar Country Office and with SCI and SC Member offices as appropriate
• Work alongside the ACCM Director and our creative agency partner to deliver Youth Activate Myanmar project.
• Lead the delivery of Save the Children’s Exclusive Breastfeeding campaign, along with partners such as UNICEF and Alive and Thrive.
• Lead the planning and implementation of Save the Children’s other campaign activities, employing a range of appropriate tactics and tools including public awareness-raising and popular mobilisation events, media and social media actions, as well as activities involving and shaped by children and youth
• Be the Myanmar Country Office’s focal point for the global campaign (ELC) and other global or regional campaign requests
• Undertake ‘Reactive Campaigning’ in response to new incidents and events as required, in line with global and regional guidance with a focus on priority issues.
• Provide technical and implementation support for campaigns within programming.
• In collaboration with the MEAL team and relevant programme staff, establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for campaigns and ensure that implementation and impact are effectively monitored and evaluated, and lessons documented and shared.
• Lead on developing relevant risk analyses for campaign strategies and initiatives as appropriate
• Work with Advocacy Manager to report every quarter on the Advocacy and Campaign resourcing Key Performance Indicator.

Media and Communications
• Work alongside the Communications and Media Manager to identify key media and communication opportunities that ensure our target audiences are influenced to support change for children.
• Work with Media and Comms team to develop re-active media plans for priority campaign issues.
• Working with communications and media colleagues on a proactive media strategy and related media materials e.g. media packs, press releases, and information sheets relevant to campaign priorities.
• Represent campaign aims and messages to external contacts, media organisations and internal communications channels as required.

Capacity Building
• Build the capacity of relevant programme staff and partners to understand and support campaign purposes, approaches and implementation, including by designing or supporting capacity building exercises.

Emergencies
• In times of crisis, be ready to change priorities rapidly and support an emergency response including by working outside of normal business hours and days, and deploying to field locations

Child Safeguarding Responsibilities:
• Develop specific and contextual country level guidance to ensure that children who participate in media or communications work are protected from exploitation, increased vulnerability, or any form of harm or indignity

Job Requirements

• At least 6 years’ experience in campaigning, communications, media management, or any closely related field.
• Experience of designing and implementing integrated campaigns, with a particular emphasis on using digital platforms.
• Experience of working on human development, social justice, or rights-based issues
• Experience working with or alongside creative marketing agencies
• Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Commitment to the human rights of all people in Myanmar regardless of their background, with an action-oriented attitude towards influencing change.
• Good coordination and network management skills
• Experience in co-creation or developing campaigns through human centred design techniques.
• Proven ability to encourage innovation and team work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation developing effective working relationships
• Excellent English communications skills, both written and oral
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
• Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy
• Willingness to travel to field offices and work in challenging environments
• Experience of working on one or more of Save the Children’s sectors i.e. child poverty, child protection, child rights governance, education, health and nutrition, child safety
