Position Purpose
The Chief Digital Officer will be responsible for creating and managing a business unit comprising Product, Digital, Data Analytics, PMO and Business Transformation. This person is responsible for communicating to executive management in order to influence decisions about digital initiatives and will have significant exposure to business leaders and the board of directors. The CDO is a “transformer in chief,” charged with coordinating and managing comprehensive changes that address everything from updating how the company works to facilitating new business streams.

Key Result Areas
• Owning and delivering upon the Digital business, transforming Wave Money into a super platform
• Delivering scalable experiments to business across new Digital Channels
• Create a personal and relevant Customer experience using Human Centered Design and Agile methodologies
• Leave a legacy of innovation and high performance within the Product & Digital businesses and wider organization
• Develop the data strategy for the business, and move the function to a mature state of detailed analytics and measurement
• Own the ‘Open API’ initiative for the business, with a goal of launching, maintaining and commercializing APIs
• Accountable for the digital transformation of operations and the business, supporting growth aspirations including investment in people, processes and technology.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Business Case: Develop business cases for new platforms and products for DMM, and ensure that business stakeholders are aligned with investment, commitments and benefits.
• Business Architecture: Responsible for development of the Target Operating Model for DMM across multiple streams, ensuring that business stakeholders are clearly aligned with the vision for the future.
• Portfolio Governance: Responsible for management of the project office function for Asia, ensuring that all projects are delivered successfully and aligned with strategy, ensuring revenue and transactional target achievement
• Establish a vision within the Myanmar digital landscape and refine a product roadmap to achieve that vision
• Business Case: Develop business cases for new platforms for DMM, and ensure that business stakeholders are aligned with investment, commitments and benefits.

• Develop and implement new or existing product enhancements through analyzing consumer behavior and preferences, competitive best practices and product economics
• Management of the Product function within the business, including product design,development and build.
• Analyse, plan and execute Pilots and Proof of Concepts for emerging payments and new digital technologies
• Initiate, plan and manage initiatives throughout the entire project life cycle using diverse cross-functional project teams
• Responsible for driving digital engagement, digital growth and relevant customer experience across the market
• Develop a high performing Product team that will lead and deliver value across key operating activities that span content management, digital messaging, digital optimisation, data and digital acquisition
• Make recommendations based on regulatory changes, competition, consumer trends and market research
• Ensure business stability, growth, strategic alignment and enhanced profitability for the Digital business
• Knowledge of established payments propositions and processes and awareness of the wider payments market including alternative payments, wallets, mobile payments etc
• Own, drive and report on Product & Digital units and manage department performance on set targets and budgets.
• Ensure close monitoring/analysis and visibility of Transactional trends, Product Usage, Campaigns Impact etc.
• Develop and execute holistic pricing strategy and execute on both strategic and tactical level, covering promotions and campaigns.
• Demonstrate leadership acumen and align Partner ambitions with overall company strategic goals
• Process Management: Ensure processes are compliant and within regulatory framework
• Mentor team members and help develop skill set for future leaders in Wave Money

Key Performance and Success Indicators
• Promote: Wave Money (DMM) and its growth in Myanmar: Creates networks and promotes initiatives with partner organizations, strengthen partnerships in the market and in country.
• Performance: Develop business model and strategies in line with Myanmar country context for DMM and to be operational within the set timeframe.
• Client focus and orientation: Anticipates constraints in the delivery of DMM’s services and proactively identifies, develops and discusses solutions or alternatives
• Results-based improvement and management: Identifies business strategies using a fact-based approach; Ensure effective operation of DMM strategies and business sustainability; Pre-emptive business risks and constrains by setting out Policies and prevention plan; Conceptualizes more effective approaches to DMM development and implementation and to mobilizing and using resources
• Leadership and people management: Build a high performance culture by communicating an energizing and compelling vision for future growth, underpinned by challenging business targets and creation of the conditions for success.

Key Stakeholders
This position has to communicate with various stakeholders such as, national counterparts, regulators and government authorities, partner organizations, corporate clients, investors, financial sponsor, business partners and suppliers, peers and community. In simplest way, we define anyone who comes into contact with Wave Money/ DMM as a stakeholder

Job Requirements

Experience, Functional Skills and Knowledge Areas
Experience:
• 10 years of relevant experience in Digital Innovation & Delivery, Product Management, Solution Management, Brand Functionality at local or International organizations within Payments, Banking or Mobile Financial Services
• Extensive experience in research and policy-level analysis, strategic management, digital innovation, product sustainability management and brand and customer focus awareness.
• Outstanding subject matter expertise of digital channel, including technical, commercial, market place and customer considerations

Education and qualifications:
• Advance university degree in Technology, Computer Science, Economics, International Relations, Business Administration and Management or other relevant fields.
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience in handling of web-based management systems and advanced program for data analysis.

Functional Skills and Knowledge Areas:
• Previous experience in delivering plan of large complex technology-enabled transformation programs with significant concurrent business transformation and multiple project streams
• At least 5 years of project and program management experience either in a corporate environment or a leading consulting firm delivering transformational change.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in project management methodologies
• Ability to lead effectively with mentoring as well as conflict resolution skills
• Experience with people management and development
• Prior engagement in strategy development and execution
• Change management and adaptability
• Demonstrated decision making capability
• Ability to drive customer behaviour and provide excellent customer experience.
• Ability to lead strategic planning, results-based management and reporting
• Experience in leading human centered design projects
• Strong capabilities in agile methodologies
• Understanding of intelligent middleware technologies
• Exposure to big data concepts and analysis

Language Requirements:
• Fluent in English and knowledge of local language (Myanmar) is asset but not essential

Technology and Methodology
• Experience of using collaboration, SDLC and management tools ideally from the Atlassian toolset: JIRA and Confluence to ensure frictionless execution of Digital Strategy
• Familiarity with Behavioral Driven Development and feature definition and grouping using Agile Stories and Epics
• Broad understanding of the Android and iOS capabilities and limitations in the context of emerging capabilities
• Knowledge of UX/UI frameworks and APIs to the extent of informing implementation decisions
• Awareness of automation technologies used in marketing and analytics
• Awareness of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics technology applications as part of Digital Strategy
• Awareness of IoT platforms/devices used in FinTech and Digital Money/Payments
