OVERALL SCOPE
To be responsible, under the direction of Head of Collection for the management of a portfolio of problem/ risk assets and to maximize recovery on behalf of the Bank.

DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and handle the daily activities of collection teams
- Encourage, train and motivate subordinate in order to achieve the objective of the collection department
- Organised regular collection meeting with the team on target achievement and sharing of key success of particular case recovered
- Lead the negotiation with the clients for recovering the bad debt
- Manage all problem risk assets in a manner such as to maximize the return to the Bank
- For each NPL, develop Action/Workout strategies to maximize recoveries for the Bank and the implementation of the necessary Action Steps to achieve these strategies
- Manage re-negotiation of existing credit facilities with customers to strengthen the position of the Bank
- Manage the valuation and realization process of collateral assets to secure the best return for the Bank
- Manage the assets that the bank won from recovery efforts
- Assist in a compilation and preparing NPL committee paper for the purpose of the progress of the recovery efforts
- Assist Head of Collection in follow up on NPL portfolio progress achieved particularly by the completion of Action Plans on a regular basis
- Ensure that all risk assets in the NPL portfolio are correctly credit graded/classified and are realistically provisioned
- Draw up and implement a training plan for all collection officer in NPL team
- Assist in ensuring provision process is execute in a timely manner
- Monitor the revenue reversal for delinquent and NPL accounts to be in accordance with the Bank's policy
- Provide a consultancy service to other Departments and Branches of the Bank on all aspects of problem loan recognition and management
- Take an active part in the recruitment process for the monitoring and recover team
- Draw up and implement a training plan for all staff in NPL Team
- Undertake annual performance appraisal, at year end, based on achievement of agreed goals from the beginning of the year
- Assist Head of Collection for all reporting requirements
- Execute and abide by regulatory ie. CBM’s directive and compliance
- Thorough understanding of Yoma Bank’s Credit Policy, Risk Appetite, and Credit Procedures
- Other tasks/projects assigned by management

MEASUREMENT
- NPL Reduction levels against the target
- The improvement in Credit Audit Ratings for NPL portfolio management over time
- Drive and monitor team performance with a view to ensuring compliance with agreed service levels
- Performance Appraisal of subordinate submitted on time

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skill
Essential
- A sound knowledge of lending in the Myanmar market gained through practical experience.
- Sound knowledge of Myanmar legal processes at a level which would allow challenge with lawyers involved in transactions
- Be familiar with collateral documentation and identify any inherent errors
- An ability to communicate with and influence customers and, within Yoma Bank, all levels of management and staff
- Consistently deliver high levels of results, using constructive credit management techniques and to exceed multiple, challenging performance objectives
- Have the high level of attention to details.
- An ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Have strong organizational skills and time management abilities
- Adapts easily to the new environment and can work with a variety of people
- Frequent travel to branches across the country for collection.

Education and Special Training
Essential
- Completion of Tertiary qualifications, preferably in a business or related field such as Bachelor of Business, Management, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or industry-specific
qualifications.

Desirable
- MBA

Experience
Essential
- Experience in managing a medium sized Monitoring and collection.
- Possess a proven track record at senior management level with experience of applying sound judgment in credit decisions in all parts of the credit cycle

Language
Essential
- Sound and effective interpersonal & communication skills in both Myanmar and English languages.
