Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Under the direct and coaching of Project Coordinator/Officer , the Community Development facilitator will have the following responsibilities:

Purpose of Position:
This position is to mobilize the partnered Community Development Committee through facilitation of sustainable development processes for the benefit of the children, their families and the community within the strategy of the organization in order to achieve the goal of the Community Development Project.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Mobilize and facilitate Community Development Committee for the highest ownership of the development process among the community in accordance with the Project Cycle Management.

1.1. Facilitate the forming and strengthening of Community Development Committee in the assigned area.
1.2. Facilitate in developing the short, medium and long term plans of Community Development Committee that can address the prioritized needs of the children.
1.3. Collaborate with the Community Development Committee that the activities are implemented, monitored evaluated in accordance with the POA.
1.4. Ensure that the Community Development Committee is proactively working for the wellbeing of the children including the vulnerable groups in the community intentionally considered in the plan.
1.5. Facilitate in regular review and analyze process of the community development activities and support CDC to make adjustment relevantly in the time occurrence and also make sure all the lessons learnt are applied.

2. Facilitate and support training to Community Development Committee and community members as their capacity building to be empowered for the wellbeing of the children including vulnerable.
2.1 Facilitate in regular meeting, training and workshop of the CDC and community members in the assigned area.
2.2 Provide technical advice, knowledge and other inputs related with the community development as necessarily and appropriately.
2.3 Conduct awareness raising session and provide the trainings concerning with leadership and management, development concepts, teambuilding and etc., to the CDC and community members.
2.4. Facilitate through meeting and training with committees to build-up their skills on planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in order to be able to address their identified-needs effectively.
2.5. Ensure that the capacity of the Community Development Committee and community members is being built-up progressively.
2.6. Ensure that the Community Volunteers are sharing the knowledge that they gained through the training organized by the organization to the targeted participants.
2.7. Facilitate all the knowledge transfer processes are implemented with the uppermost interest and participation of the community members.

3. Promote culture of voluntary participation in the community development as a key player of good change for the lives of the children and the community.
3.1. Facilitate and advocate community members to select the most suitable persons to be community volunteers with their consensus.
3.2. Ensure that the community volunteers clearly understand about their role and responsibility under the supervision of CDC.
3.3. Encourage and motivate to the community volunteers to have high commitment in the community development process through regular meeting, training and workshop.

4. Ensure that all the sponsorship services standard are met in accordance with the policy and guideline.
4.1. Ensure that all the registered children in assigned area are monitored at least three times a year through APR, ACL and home visit activity.4.2. Ensure that all the APR, ACL and Gift Money in assigned area are corresponded in accordance with the policy of child sponsorship management.
4.3. Facilitate and promote activities in the community to increase the participation in sponsorship program in assigned area.
4.4. Ensure that the community members clearly understand about the child sponsorship program in order to avoid the misunderstanding in child sponsorship.

5. Strengthen networking between CDC, village/ward authority, NGOs/INGOs and FBO which are based in the community for long-term working relationship and resources sharing.
5.1. Conduct advocacy meeting with local village/ward authority to advocate the issues in the community and share project implementation appropriately.
5.2. Organize coordination meeting with local village/ward authority, other NGOs/INGOs, Churches or FBO and other social organizations if necessary.
5.3. Represent CDP in local village/ward level government, NGOs/INGOs meetings, alliances and coalitions.

6. Ensure the budget and other resources are utilized with the uppermost impact and efficient with transparency and accountability.
6.1. Facilitate in developing the budget plan of the Community Development Committee to address the prioritized needs of the children and the community living in poverty.
6.2. Ensure the budget estimation is most relevant with the current circumstances and monitor and review the expenses on regular basis.
6.3. Ensure that other resources assigned by the organization are utilized with the highest ownership sense for maximizing its quality and capability.
6.4. Respond the findings and recommendations of audit appropriately within the agree timeframe in assigned area.
6.5. Facilitate, encourage and negotiate community to increase financial participation in community development works to maximize the usage of project funding.

7. Support CDP office by providing regular feedback, constructive advice, report to Project Coordinator and actively participate in team meetings and other events.
7.1. Submit monthly plan and report with the accurate data and evidence-based information to Project Coordinator with the format in timely manner.
7.2. Attend regular or occasional team meeting as priority and share experience, project related information, and provide feedback for the better results in forthcoming intervention.
7.3. Participate actively in other events organized as a team movement and take duty assigned by the supervisor.

8. Promote Organizational Core Values, Human Rights and Dignity in the community by modeling through professional working attitude and behaviors.
8.1. Uphold the servant leadership style whenever working in the community and be a role
model as a per son who stands for the poor and marginalized people
8.2. Show love and kindness to the children, their families and community and always treat with gentleness and politeness.
8.3. Give respect to others including teammates regardless of the age, race, religion, skin color, disabilities, wealth rank, education level and so on.
8.4. Treat community people as working partners who are the critical persons to achieve the sustainable development.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

 Graduated with at least bachelor’s degree in any subject.
 A minimum of two years working experience in social works/ customer services/INGO is preferred.
 Excellence in computer, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and emailing is essential.
 Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills in English.
 Good knowledge on using camera and photography is preferred.
 Able to work office related jobs as well as willing to visit field when necessary.
 Strong interpersonal, people oriented and able to work with various kind of people including poor.
 Must be able to conform to organizational core values, core documents and standards.
 Able to ride motor bike and must have driving-licence.
