Job Description

A Big Opportunity for ...

Perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Follow established procedures and guidelines to accurately maintain the organization's financial records and transactions.

1. Check and analyze financial information and prepare more complex financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.

2. Maintain daily control, margin analysis and analyze reasons for fluctuations. Ensure cost build-up for inventory is updated and pricing decisions are accurate. Approve stock costing adjustments.

3. Flash weekly and monthly closing reports to management behind margin, volume. Quarterly MIC reporting of results.

4. Manages general accounting functions and is involved in preparation of the Monthly Financial reports including financial statements, balance sheet notes, passing closing entries and adjustments, supporting schedules,. Closing of system modules as required in Navision

5.Month end closing of financial statements, including balance sheet, P&L, stock reconciliation, gain/loss reports. Coordination of inventory verification processes to ensure month end dipping observations are performed. Management reports on current results.

6. Review stock movement, distribution costs and ensure margins are correctly reflected on a daily basis

Job Requirements

Please note: The position is for Maternity Cover. (Short-Term Contract)

Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with over 6 years of experience in a similar role in an industrial business, including up to 3 years of supervisory experience.
Oil industry experience is preferred.
CPA or a Post Graduate degree in accounting is preferred.
Experience in preparing budgets. Familiarity with ERP Systems; Hyperion; Office; Advanced Excel; Database Management.
Exposure to IFRS and US GAAP standards is preferred

• Accounting Knowledge
• Knowledge of applicable local laws, codes and regulations
• Ability to compile, analyze data and prepare complex financial reports and statements
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Fluent in English (other languages will be a plus)
• Technology savvy – familiarity with Navision systems is a bonus


Ability to prioritize and schedule work; meet multiple deadlines, communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and remain calm in stressful situations. Leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in a high stress environment. Good organizational skills.
