Job Description

Strategic Purpose of Role

Manage the implementation of the Company’s communication strategies and policies which include PR and media, issue and crisis communication, information dissemination and strategic communications advice; to profile the Company as a reputable brewer with a dynamic portfolio of international brands.

Manage and execute the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and initiatives to maintain an excellent corporate reputation.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Public Relations

1. Manage the public relations policy for the Company which includes:
Executing public relations and corporate communications programmes to enhance the Company’s corporate image and reputation
Enhancing the Company's relations and communication with its stakeholders, i.e. media, consumers, customers, business associates, NGOs ad industry Key Opinion Leaders by creating an understanding and support from them for the Company’s decisions and actions
Collaborating with the Corporate Affairs & Legal department to manage press conferences for the Annual/Extraordinary General Meeting (AGM/EGM)
Optimise all opportunities and public relations activities for the Managing Director profiling as the official spokesperson of the Company
Establish and develop strong relationships with media
Work closely with media, consumers, customers, professional bodies and business-related organisations when handling issues and crisis communication
2. Create awareness and recognition for the Company by continuously leveraging on corporate functions to raise the Company’s profile by maximising all media opportunities e.g. print, digital, social etc.



Corporate Communications and Branding

1. Develop and implement a corporate communications plan for the Company which is consistent with and reflects the organisation’s strategic vision and objectives while maintaining an excellent reputation with internal and external stakeholders. This includes:

Planning and managing corporate communications, public relations, media relations, branding and sponsorship advertising tasks
Devising a proactive corporate communications plan to mitigate adverse media coverage on the beer industry
Developing a communication guideline for crisis management and counter-measures to contain the damaging effects of any crisis outbreak that impacts the Company's corporate image
Working with media outlets to publish timely company information, such as press releases, brochures, and other materials
Overseeing the operation of social media portals of both corporate and brands in order to connect with key stakeholders and address queries or complaints from members of the public
Managing the organisation of press conferences and conduct press meetings to present the Company’s corporate information to be published in the press, magazines, etc
Preparing speeches and keynote addresses for the Managing Director
Manage and drive the publication of the Company’s annual report. Responsible for the Annual Report theme, cover and layout, Chairman and MD Statement, Management Discussion and Analysis, Photography of Board of Directors, Management Team and Brands, etc.


Corporate Social Responsibility

1. Drive the execution of the Company’s strategy, policies, programmes and practices in the Society & Reputation lever which encompasses Carlsberg Group’s corporate social responsibility policies and codes of conduct:
Lead the implementation of Responsible Drinking, Marketing Communications and Community Engagement policies for the Company and its subsidiaries.
Support the implementation of Environment, Health & Safety, Labour & Human Rights, and Business Ethics policies for the Company and its subsidiaries.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, manage and measure their involvement in CSR activities.
Develop and maintain partnerships with non-profit organisations and governing bodies.
Adapt global policies into local context and communication; for effective integration into the value chain of the Company and its subsidiaries. support

Customer Engagement & Events Activation

Support the corporate branding initiatives to support business growth and ensure consistency in the positioning of the Company’s corporate image building.

Work closely with Human Resources to enhance awareness of the Company as employer of choice through all channels of communication and activation activities
Provide market intelligence on industry news, events and happenings

Other

Assume responsibility for any ad-hoc tasks as directed by the line manager and/or Management
Collaborate with other internal and external resources as appropriate

Job Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

A university degree in Social Sciences or Business preferably in Communications/Public Relations/Journalism
Fluency in both English and Burmese
At least 6 years progressive experience in communications/public relations
Experience in an agency/fast moving consumer goods environment
Relationship management experience with a commitment to providing exceptional levels of service to both internal and external partners
Exposure to communications planning and issues management in corporate or consultancy organisations
Experience in managing the implementation of communications strategies and policies
Versed in managing media relations
