An Exciting Opportunity for ...

• Identifies database requirements by analysing department applications, programming, and operations, evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems
• Recommend solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications
• Install revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements
• Maintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters, implementing new releases, completing maintenance requirements, evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products
• Prepare users by conducting training, providing information and resolving problems
• Provide information by answering questions and requests for data structures & models
• Support database functions by designing and coding utilities
• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards
• Maintain professional technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and adopting state-of-the-art practices

Job Requirements

• University Degree (Computer Science)
• 2years of work experience
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Skills in the following: Database Performance Tuning, Database Security, Promoting Process Improvement, Presenting Technical Information, Database Management, Data Maintenance, Operating Systems and Information Security Policies
• Ability to plan and organise
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise
• Ability to anticipate potential challenges/issues and engage relevant parties in resolving issues
• Ability to gather information
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable
• Organised customer-focused and detail oriented
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of team
• Must be used Oracle
