This position partakes the responsibility in optimizing each operation to put products in the market, at the determined moment, location, conditioning, quantity, with services associated.
He/ she will be responsible of the running of the operations of a Distribution Center.
The scope of the operations:
Receiving (IN)
Put away
Storage (including cross-docking)
Replenishment
Picking
Consolidation (OUT)
Specific operations (co-packing, bar code stickers…)
Working as a DC Logistics Manager is a very varied and rewarding career with tasks ranging from the development of timely, cost-effective schemes to the handling of the technicalities of operations. The experience develops a specific mindset: pragmatic, problem solving, achiever.
Basic Functions:
1• Handle the responsibility of a Distribution Center (budget, incomes, costs… like a mini-BU)
2• Staff Management: team building, efficiency, effectively, capacity building, evolvement, rewards, respect of SOP, research of improvement, promote values (honesty, team spirit …) …
3• Develop a Logistics Mindset: think at the same time: global Company interest, and small very practical actions, be structured and organized with permanently the priorities in mind.
4• Develop Communication: Provide a clear visibility of the costs, functioning, risks & opportunities
Job Functions:
1• Anticipation: Manage the operations at the best cost according to the evolution of the situation (pro-active)
2• Agility: e.g. be ready to support any aggressive action (marketing & merchandising actions) at the best cost, or any other event
3• Reliability: be realistic and pragmatic, and guaranty that each data/information is right, each planning and SOP is respected, and what is decided will be achieved point per point.
4• Sustainability: each action (decision is action) must be long term oriented. Any repetitive issues must be systematically eliminated (solved) in order to avoid the facing of an accumulation of problems at a highest cost.
Key Results:
• Operations must be profitable (lowest global costs in a global vision)
• Become a Key Manager for the development of overall CDSG business,
• Implementation of:
1• KPIs: daily, weekly and monthly communicated with regularity
Operations: cost/piece picked (productivity)….
Individual development: training, productivity, incident, etc…
Financial: cost per piece delivered, cost per operation per piece delivered…
Compliancy: ISO-9000 guidelines to be followed…
2• Planning: resources, training, OT…
3• Data base: SOP, HSE, LEAN…
4• Working area correctly organized for a better productivity (e.g. ABCD location)
5• Road map for each position: e.g. organization in waves
6• DC fully equipped: e.g. small flow racks and shelving
7• HR management: daily & weekly meeting and communication…
• Autonomy: must be able to handle the function and propose several solutions to her/his manager only when necessary
• Leadership: the staff considers the DC manager as a professional and a respected leader.
• Improvement: every week there is an achievement (planning, data base, problem solved…)
Job Requirements
Due to the capacity of communication needed, languages are essential: Myanmar, English, Chinese
Must be able to manipulate figures (ready to work on Excel)
Show significant achievements done by the past, and a personality of leader
Show accuracy and awareness to details (to guaranty the reliability)
Show a positive attitude and be solution oriented (logistics is always confronted to negative contexts and to difficulties)
Show the courage to tell when it’s wrong, to communicate and to decide (within limits)
