Job SummaryThe Manager, DFS will be responsible for leading a diverse set of initiations in relation to DFS so that Proximity Finance can leverage and optimize the use DFS Platform Initiative to achieve its strategic objectives. These include the automation of business operations, digital payment transactions, e.g., disbursement, collection, deposit, withdrawal etc. and mobile agent establishment that are critical to driving overall financial inclusion in Proximity Finance. MDFS is expected to work closely with CEO to align and shape organizational and strategic directions in some other key project management in addition to DFS and engage in various product design and development that assist the low income families and smallholder farmers with the overall objective of financial inclusion. This position will manage resources, budget and key relationships and partners needed for the success of DFS and Business Innovation. Fields of Responsibility DFS and Mobile Technology Project Management Engaging in Core Banking System Implementation Business Innovation and DevelopmentDFS & Mobile Technology Involves in Strategic Planning and Development, especially when it comes to technology and mobile technologies. Provide in-house subject matter expertise on industry and technology trends and opportunities of DFS for Proximity Act as primary contact for the partner of Proximity where the DFS integration will take place; Proactively recognize and address concerns/issues and use set communication protocols and methods to maintain an open, transparent and trusting relationship; Create and manage budget and ensure all spend is within the approved budget. Manage internal budget review process on a regular basis; Develop understanding of channels, products and delivery channel to deliver mobile financial services – especially the Digital Financial Service Provider agent channel and develop ideas on how to leverage those channels to deliver mobile financial services; Project Management Work with various stakeholders (Wave Money and others) and management to explore the best options for Proximity Finance to leverage the use of mobile technology. Lead and manage the overall project of DFS/Mobile Technology, including research and exploration, project design, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Facilitate and work with various managers and staff of Proximity Finance, including Proximity Designs to ensure the success of project implementation. Provide regular report about the DFS to management of PD&PF Prepare reporting documentation and lead regular stakeholder discussions with Proximity, including but not limited to Monthly Updates and Quarterly Reports. Ensure Proximity is involved throughout the process to create shared ownership of deliverables; Hire and manage resources needed to support the projects;Engagement in Core Banking System Management Provide advice and feedback on the current Core Banking System and suggest if there is any improvement to be made. Engage in the Project Implementation Committee on Core Banking Implementation if Proximity decides to change to the new Core Banking Sytem. Assist in conducting the analysis on the new Core Banking System Support the implementation and rollout of the new core banking systemBusiness Innovation and Development Work closely with CEO and other leader to explore new business innovations that can help improving the overall business efficiency, profitability and service delivery. Provide regular and feedback on how to use DFS to improve business efficiency and productivity Work closely with other departments to explore the more efficiency way to improving the business operations. Staff ResponsibilityManager, DFS & Innovation is responsible for all the staff under his/her supervision (staff will be recruited based on the needs of the company). ReportingManager, DFS & Innovation reports to CEO
Qualification, Skills and Experiences Minimum of Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Administration (MA/MBA holders are preferred). Minimum of 5 years experiences in bank or Microfinance operations; Minimum of 3 years experiences in a digital financial services and related projects; Good experience in project management Good understanding of the related Laws and Regulations for Microfinance and especially for digital financial service and mobile money operator. Good knowledge and understanding of the digital financial service market, its challenges and opportunities Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team Knowledge product design, customer relationship and research Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the Proximity’s Mission, culture and Values Be proficient in Microsoft office applications Very good communication skills
