Job Description

A Great Opportunity for ...

Shwe Taung Engineering & Construction is searching for a dynamic, self-driven and hard-working Employee Relations Team Leader.

Shwe Taung Overview
Shwe Taung is one of the leading corporations in Myanmar. We have a diversified portfolio of business interests with a focus on six core sectors – building materials, distribution, engineering and construction, infrastructure investment, lifestyle, and real estate.
Shwe Taung Engineering and Construction is building the future of Myanmar, providing sustainable engineering and construction solutions for smarter growth. We are continually improving standards of living and connecting people by creating international quality housing, commercial developments, transportation infrastructure and energy solutions.

Responsibilities
The Employee Relations Team Leader is responsible to liaise between employees and management to foster a productive and healthy workplace. Responsibilities include:
● Periodically plan, design and deliver employee satisfaction surveys and report to top management
● Identify trends and engage top management to adopt new practices to engage and motivate the employees
● Report to top management employees’ suggestions to improve employees’ morale, productivity and safety
● Distribute and internally communicate top management’s decisions, policies and instructions to all employees
● Support the HRM & HRD functions
● Handle employee complaints and direct when needed to the appropriate Grievance Mechanism
● Perform employee background checks and verification
● Conduct Exit interviews
● Handle disciplinary cases
● Perform any other duty as assigned by the management
Note on culture fit: this is an excellent opportunity for motivated, ambitious and hard-working people who are willing to contribute to the setup of a new HR department, where processes and systems have to be redesigned from scratch. You will be asked to help in many areas and your actual responsibilities may end up being different from the above list. You will need to be able to handle complicated relationships across many internal stakeholders (from the CEO all the way down to site staff). This is definitely not a job for someone who is used to leave the office at 5pm every day! The successful performer will be ideal candidate for future management positions.
