Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

• Manage the ESIA development, compilation and submission processes and any subsequent public consultations in accordance with the Myanmar EIA Procedures.
• Map out an action plan to implement the ESMP and ensure compliance with all legislations as well as company commitments
• Lead the development of M&AOSB environmental management systems, policies, and procedures in support of construction and operational activities
• Monitor by contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors, consultants and other applicable stakeholders for compliance with ESMPs
• Liaise with government departments, partners, and Corporate Affairs team in relation to social performance
• Manage the environmental permitting process and ensure that the necessary permits are obtained in support of operations schedule.

• Develop and oversee the environmental/social audit plan
• Provide internal trainings where required
• Advise leading industry best available techniques and practices are adopted with regard to environmental management, ongoing operations, EMPs, waste management, monitoring, rehabilitation, etc.
• Periodically, the employee may be expected to perform assigned duties and tasks not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when necessary.

Job Requirements

Minimum required knowledge & experience

Education / Experience
• Preferably a BSc in Environmental Science or related field
• Extensive experience in similar role within extractive or related industries
• Engagement and influencing government, community, civil society actors

Special Skills
• Proven track record of delivering high quality ESIAs and ESMPs
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
• Familiarity with waste management practices/disposals
• Familiarity with environmental legislation
• Familiarity with monitoring systems
• International experience is preferred
• Oil & gas experience is preferred
