Job Description

A Big Opportunity for ...

Main tasks related to Higher Education programmes

• Independent work-related travel 50% of time; office-based 50% of time

• Survey and collect data on potential programmes and partners, review proposals

• Provide updates about relevant developments in Myanmar

• Provide feedback on current or potential programmes

• Conduct site visits: follow up with proposals, network with organisations, monitor/support programmes

• Collect, review, clarify, and evaluate reporting from programmes

• Oversee programme budgets: create draft budgets, queue payments, monitor expenditure

• Review and recommend annual programme activities and budgets (programme agreements)

• Write reports explaining and evaluating programmes

• Communicate with stakeholders in Myanmar

• Plan and arrange for occasional monitoring trips for visitors to programmes

• Represent our work to external partners and the Myanmar government (as required)

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree minimum with 2-3 years relevant work experience in management roles

• Myanmar National who holds Myanmar ID and passport (or be able to obtain passport if not yet have one)

• Proficiency in Burmese and English and able to write and communicate in both languages; additional Myanmar ethnic minority languages ideal

• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

• Confident and able to take initiative and solve problems independently or know when to seek assistance

• Strong analysis and conceptual skills, with great attention to detail

• Able to travel alone (as needed) to various locations in Myanmar, travel on week-ends/holidays occasionally

• Motivation to work towards social development respecting all nationalities, ethnicities, religions, and genders

• This is a long-term position, a commitment for several years is expected
