• Delivers operational results with a short-term focus within the section of responsibility
• Makes decisions and gives instructions that result in the achievement of operational KPIs, prevention of delays in assigned work, and limits the risk of expenditures in time, human resources and/or funds
• Is accountable to his/her direct superior for the delivery of operational results within the area of responsibility
• Provides support and coordination to peers on the implementation of DC policies, programs, and initiatives
• Provides operational reports to direct superiors.
• Coordinates with the other section managers to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Provides leadership support to the operational teams in his/her section
• Coordinates and controls the operations activities within the section of responsibility
• Works closely with Shift Manager in managing his/her section in accordance with determined plans and methodologies
• Coordinates with the other section managers in developing and proposing to direct superiors - effective work processes, procedures, work instructions, and/or SOPs
• Closely controls the section of responsibility to ensure that the operational teams provide smooth warehouse operations and follow DC procedures / work instructions / SOPs and stays within the budget
• Coordinates closely with the other section managers to ensure harmony of day-to-day operations
• Provides, in coordination with other section managers, information and recommendations on shift organizational structures - which clearly outlines responsibilities and accountabilities
• Takes immediate reasonable actions to tackle and resolve any operational problems at hand
• Identifies and analyzes operational problems in the section of responsibility and develops solutions to enhance operations
• Sets daily/weekly/monthly targets and goals for monitoring and evaluating operations and cost effectiveness.
• Develops appropriate operations-related information and controls its storage and availability at all times
• Drives for and controls the effective use of DC resources in order to stay within approved budget
• Promotes and enforces compliance with prevailing legal and statutory requirements
• Develops a culture of quality, service excellence and cost consciousness in the section of responsibility
• Coordinates with the transportation services to ensure effective and on-time delivery of goods
• Coordinates and controls outsourced labors to ensure continuous and reliable services
• Determines the methods for use and maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition and sufficiently available and ready for use at all times
• Set standards of workplace tidiness and cleanliness, determines methods and processes, and ensures that those standards, methods and processes are followed
• Participates in safety committees and allows and supports staff to participate in safety committees as required.
• Advises and trains employees in potentially hazardous work practices.
• Ensures that the employees comply with the rules, regulations, instructions, orders or measures relating to work safety.
• Conducts Hazard Analysis with Safety Committees and inform the employees of the hazards in the workplace.
• Checks the performance of the place of operations according to the work plan, project or measures on work safety.
• Complies with company OHS policy and procedures.
• Ensures the conduct of annual drills of emergency and evacuation as required by the law or company policy
• Oversees overall people processes within the scope of responsibility to ensure compliance with Human Resource policies
• Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to subordinates
• Coordinates with the HR Department in the recruitment and selection process
• Develops and evaluates performance targets and goals
• Provides leadership and motivation to all staff within the scope of responsibility
• Identifies and supports subordinates in training and development needs
• Promotes career development
• Ensures the promotion of discipline amongst employees within the scope of responsibility
• Manages under performance of subordinates

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting
2. Good command in English and computer skills
3. Minimum 5 years of post-grad experience in Accounting or Finance with at least 2 years at a management position.
4. Some experience in Supply Chain Management / Transport Business
5. Commercial exposure / experience in a sizable, well-established organization
6. Accounting and Financial skills (both statutory and IFRS)
7. Keen commercial awareness
8. Customer focused
9. Strong computer literacy and software skills
10. Project management skills
11. Analytical skills
12. Quality orientation
13. Ability to work independently and as a team
