At Dulwich College Yangon (“DCY”) child safeguarding is of paramount importance. The successful applicant for this position will be required to pass an Enhanced Safer Recruitment Check to confirm s/he is suitable to work in a child-centered work environment.

Purpose of the role
The Front Office Assistant is responsible the effective and efficient management of the reception / lobby area of the school whilst maintaining professional standards. The assistant must ensure that all interactions between administration, employees, children and parents run as smoothly as possible.

Key responsibilities
1. Answer phone calls in a pleasant, informed manner for the purpose of providing information and creating a good image of the school
2. Greets all incoming students, families and guests respectfully and professionally
3. Assists in all aspects of maintaining a professional front office, including but not limited to, fielding and directing incoming phone calls to the appropriate staff member in
a timely, professional manner, filing and copying and faxing of sensitive information
4. Develops a positive, welcoming and caring climate in the Front Office
5. Consistently exhibits high standards of professional conduct
6. Assists students and others with routine problems
7. Assists with reprographic and printing requirement for all staff
8. Liaises with parents regarding the school bussing service
9. Receives, counts, opens, unpacks, dates, stamps, records, sorts and distributes incoming mail, documents, books, materials and supplies following established procedures.
10. Receives and refers visitors, takes telephone calls and messages, and provides routine information upon request.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

-Good written and spoken English, and excellent written Myanmar Experienced in using Microsoft Office in an office environment.
-A committed team player with good communication skills who is also able to work autonomously.
-Experience of effective customer service skills and the ability to manage both internal and external customers.
-The ability to learn quickly and be flexible.
-The ability to work under pressure and to prioritize workload.
-A meticulous approach to undertaking duties.
