Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

The key responsibilities are to
• Play a critical role in identifying and securing both governmental and private sector business opportunities in power plants generation (small power plants <30 MW IPP & construction, large power plants > 30 MW EPC with partner) and distribution (T&D EPC for off-grid IPP and third parties)
• Translate the strategies developed by the SBU CEO into actual business opportunities
• Develop constructive tender winning strategy for the SBU as a whole as well as for individual tenders
• Provide expert advice and guide the department heads in contracting strategies, reviewing scope of work, contractor pre-qualification, completion of tender documents, bid evaluations and contract negotiation
• Supervise economic and commercial surveys drafting and presentation for new business opportunities
• Collaborate closely with the Corporate Strategy team to gather required market data, identify potential partners and other elements critical for effective business development
• Develop priority projects pipeline for both greenfield and brownfield projects based on a detailed assessment of the market and industry
• Work together with the person in charge of GR/PR in Corporate Office to build trust relationships with private companies active in the power industry, with local governments and governmental ministries and corporations involved in Power (MOEE, YESC…)
• Identify and approach new international and local partners for strategic partnership to venture in new project opportunities
• Work closely with EPC Head on technical and operational aspects of tender development
• Lead the development of investment proposals for new business opportunities
• Collaborate with SBU Financial Engineer on financial, sensitivity and feasibility analysis of potential power related investment projects
• Align with SBU Finance Head on the budgets and financial estimates of the all tender development
• Monitor closely and understand the overall power regulatory landscape and changing technical requirements of the industry to accordingly update the strategy and meet tender requirements

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Science (Economics) or Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or equivalent
• Master in Business Administration advantageous
• At least 10-15 years relevant experience in power generation industry with minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing role
• Experience in a business development leadership role in Myanmar and/or any other Southeast Asia country strongly preferred
• Specific working knowledge in IPP projects acquisition and operations strongly preferred
• Additional working knowledge in power T&D projects advantageous
