POSITION PURPOSE
As an expert data scientist, the Head of Data Analytics & Business Intelligence role is designed to help Wave Money setup a sound Data Analytics & Business Intelligence practice to not only support Business reporting and business decisions but also setup for the future to serve a full suite of digital products. To be the product owner of the data warehouse which is proposed to be built and implement the necessary tools and algorithms to meet the business requirements. Identify and translate tangible Business Intelligence insights coupled with other research in order to develop market opportunities into actionable recommendations to achieve company targets; to support the Product, Sales, Marketing, Digital and Distribution teams in finding new ways to maximize value and experience of existing customers and retain them; to feed all business units with reports and insights needed to run the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITES
• Managing database in the data-warehouse for the purposes of analytics & insights
• Implementing processes that improve and lead to greater data quality & Integrity
• Understand data structure and meaning in both the source and the target BI systems
• Conducting statistical & other analyses to develop strategies for Wave Money
• Documenting all processes and research
• Building new algorithms and models and building dashboards
• Executing projects involving analytics and business intelligence for Wave Money
• Identifying data patterns and trends and automate reporting
• Analyzing data to develop predictive models
• Creating, managing, and maintaining analytically rigorous data
• Noting anomaly detection and running diagnostics
• Performing graphical model analysis
• Possessing a solid machine learning and Artificial intelligence foundation
• Expert in relational database design and concepts
• Provide ongoing tracking and monitoring of the performance of decision systems and statistical models
• Answer product questions using appropriate statistical techniques on available data

• Identify what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes such as smart meters and geolocation
• Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
• Produce models and frame business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions
• Work with IT teams to support data collection, integration, and retention requirements based on the input collected with the business

Functional skills and Competencies
• Solid experience in Data Science methodology and execution
• Strong experience in SQL, databases, OBIEE tools and other analytical tools
• Strong experience in managing Business Intelligence function and Data Science
• Strong strategic and analytical skills combined with consultancy skills and robust understanding of the business planning cycle and processes;
• Strong business acumen, including a good understating of market trends and customers in the market
• Ability to translate analytics into actionable strategic recommendations and capacity to effectively communicate complex information and concepts to different types of audiences;
• Ability to partner successfully with Leadership Team, quickly building trust and credibility by setting a high visible example of professional excellence;
• Strong influencing skills, ability to lead work in a virtual and multi-cultural environment, often without direct line authority; Ability to lead teams assertively;

• Strong team player, experienced with leading across a flat organization, gained through exposure to international and multi-cultural teams.
• Understands quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Experienced in management of secondary data. Knowledgeable about study design and able to assess vendor technical capabilities.
• Proven ability to connect, integrate and distil analysis and data into a meaningful interpretation to drive strategic recommendations and enable commercial decision making. Capable of describing relevant caveats in data or in a model and how they relate to business question.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Expertise in at least one specific Data Analysis Tool (SPSS, SAS)
• Proficient with various analytics, OBIEE tools
• Educated to degree level or advanced degree in data Sciences/ Computer Science / Quantitative field.
