Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for Schenker’s Ocean Product Development to meet the change in market demand, Department Profitability (EBIT) and Maintain staff motivation on a high level to perform quality service to customer.• Primary responsibility for the development of Ocean Freight strategy.• Ensure the growth of market share for Ocean Freight products and identify best use of company resources to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.• Develop tender specific strategies in support of commercial efforts.• Achieve operational and financial targets.• Develop strong relationships with regional and global partners and be heavily involved in the negotiation of terms.• Take an active role in the business development of the product including pricing procedures and guidelines that suit market demand that will help Sales to generate new business.• Work closely with Operations and Sales teams in developing the freight sale pipelines• Involved in providing competitive rates and presenting product value proposition to Sales team and/or customers.• Manage and evaluate existing and new freight customer contracts.• Ensure that appropriate operational, commercial and financial KPIs are employed across the business to provide timely and effective reporting to support day-to-day management of the business• Initiate/Drive projects in support of improving margin and efficiency in the Ocean Business Unit.• Focus efforts on tasks that will ultimately result in improvements to performance in key priority areas like profitability, growth and operational excellence.• Ensure all global and regional policies and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to at country level.• Maintain and follow company rules, regulations and Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Standards.
• Degree holder in any field• Having spent some time in overseas and / or with a shipping-line would be an asset.• Highly analytical skills and good numeric skills• Must have good problem solving and negotiation skills• Must have good team work skills and strong self-motivation• Good time management skills are essential, especially the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.• Proficient in English • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, etc.
