Summary / ObjectiveTo lead, manage and drive growth & profitability of the Yoma Bank business portfolios including, Retail Banking, Corporate, Trade, Agri Finance, AFP and SME portfolios. The incumbent will do this through strategic planning, analytic review, product rationalization development & innovation, efficiency improvements and enhanced processes. Develop long term traditional bank strategy and champion and sell concepts to the Bank Leadership Team. Work with key stakeholders and Heads Of Businesses to provide a holistic view of current offerings ensuring new product and service delivery is achieved through new FBE systems and an effective national sales force located “in branch” and “direct sales”. Maximizing known and future opportunities, provide business heads segment data and analytic s and develop strategies to provide forward looking recommendations to ensure the bank is utilizing resources effectively and efficiently to drive increased profitability, efficiency and excellent customer service. Duties and responsibilities:Business - 60%• Develop Sales Business plans and strategies with each business head to assist the bank in achieving key balance sheet and profitability KPI’s.• Develop strategic positioning of the Yoma bank Traditional Brand to ensure that it maintains current market share and grows it. Promotes this to Senior Management & potentially Board. Work with and compliment Bank Digital strategy but not directly compete with it unless active in clearly different customer segment. • Design product and portfolio implementation strategy using Yoma Bank Segmentation Strategy as a basis by working with key stake holders and existing product managers.• Lead strategy pricing discussions through ALCO committees as to best position product set for greatest return whilst maintaining competitive positioning.• Reviewing existing product portfolio jointly with Product Managers ensuring greatest customer appeal whilst maintaining business profitability expectations.• Leads the development of the introduction of scorecards for traditional SME and personal banking segments where practical and implement new and streamlined processes leveraging the learning's of Digital distribution.• Closely monitor and analyze all business portfolios and provide timely updates to all business heads as to progress in achieving goals.• Working closely with Marketing and communications department drive portfolio marketing including presentation of concepts, value propositions, design and development of campaigns to key stakeholders and executives.• Responsible for identifying gaps between the desired state and the reality and generate options for bridging the gap (partnerships, acquisitions, 3rd parties etc.)Customer -10%• Advocate the voice of the customer in the product development process. Think like a customer.• Develop new and innovative products that meet the needs and expectations of a changing consumer/ SME market place.• Lead market research supported by marketing and communications to understand market expectations • Ensures customer experience road mapping of all segment product/services/initiatives are widely understood and supported by network managers, sales staff and staff and regularly reviewed for improvements.• Build an innovative seamless and efficient customer acquisition/referral program between Corporate Banking & Retail Consumer divisions• Maximize the use of new digital technologies to improve customer experience with the intention to grow Yoma Bank preferred segments significantly and quickly. Operations - 10%• Ensure that new product submissions are approved by New Product Committee. • Driving new products from concept through submission , approval, development and implementation and launch.• Consult with IT on a regular basis ensuring all products operate efficiently and maximized. Maximize new product offerings that can be marketed using the new Core Banking System and other technologies.• Develop tools, reporting/dashboards to provide portfolio visibility to key work partners and businesses.People - 10%• Work with key stake holders (COO, RM & Head Of Branches, Credit Risk and Retail Marketing) to bring conceptual product offerings to reality.• Strengthen the capacity of business sales teams and other teams created by Transformation by mentoring/coaching, developing and delivering of training programs for SME staff. Coach and develop through the new “specialists” stream. Mobilize and manage financial and human resources to implement plans, supporting product development managers in their work and ensuring strong synergies between different teams.• Manage, Coach and mentor and grow effectiveness of existing direct sales teams “SME Hunters” and Payroll Direct teams.Compliance -10%• Work with a credit risk management and credit support functions in the development of risk management methodologies, both for initial creditworthiness review and for monitoring of traditional loans.• Ensures that all staff operate and are supported by effective SOPs, mitigating risk whilst meeting meeting external compliance requirements. • All products and services to operate within Central Bank authorities.• Prepare and submit all regulatory approvals applicable to products and services as required.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has direct responsibility to manage a small sales analysis and reporting team. Works closely with Head Of Branches developing skill set of Branch network maximizing opportunity Is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the unit.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. Will also be required to field work when required to support the business marketing and sales efforts.
