Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

• Act as supervisor to all security staff and be responsible for training, disciplinary issues
• ensuring the day-to-day health and safety of security staff.
• Provide input to emergency planning for critical incidents such as fire, flood, terrorism or kidnapping.
• Be the School’s main contact with the police and other security agencies, maintaining regular contacting with them and analyzing intelligence etc.
• Keeping Children Safe in Education regulations.
• Be responsible for securing arrangements at major School events when there are large numbers of visitors, including VIP visitors.
• In conjunction with the IT department, take a key role in the installation and management of the Schools extensive and growing provision of security systems including CCTV cameras, fire and security alarm systems and access controls.
• Attend any relevant meetings including Health & Safety Committee meetings.
• promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons adhere to and ensure compliance with the School’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

Job Requirements

• Proactive, flexible and patient, a good basic general education
• Health and safety supervisory level qualification
• Previous experience working as a head or deputy head of security
• Knowledge of personal safety techniques
• Experience of using and reviewing an operational CCTV system in accordance with the Data Protection Policy
• Experience of dealing with difficult situations under pressure
• Asset management and vehicle security experience
• Previous experience of working in a school environment
• Ability to establish excellent working relationships with public, pupils, staff and emergency service
• Ability to think strategically and to formulate ideas and solutions and present them effectively
