Job Description

• Manages a team and more complex training activities including the development, implementation and evaluation of training plans and programs which meet the business objectives, goals or organizational readiness for Underwriting & New Business
• Manages the development of more complex training materials, procedures, manuals and/or visual aids which meet the training objectives
• Develops and conducts more complex training needs assessments and determines training requirements for new program development
• Identifies and prioritizes training needs and requirements in collaboration with business stakeholders and management
• Manages ongoing assessments of training effectiveness with the key focus on accelerating/enhancing productivity, engagement and quality and develops/recommends more complex training modifications as needed
• Consults and partners with business stakeholders and/or management to support the successful application of skills learned from training curriculum for on the job effectiveness and recommends appropriate training and/or coaching reinforcement support
• Manages, conducts and/or participates in training projects for Underwriting & New Business
• Manages and oversees team budget expenses

Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Management or related discipline.
• 7 years of experience in training that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, Insurance Industry preferred
• 2+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience (Required)
• Life Underwriting & New Business experience preferred
• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to ensure workloads are appropriately balanced among team members
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches
• Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements
• Demonstrates ability to successfully hire, retain, develop and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style
• Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
