DRI is registered as a private limited company (in May 2016) with the Department of Investment and Company Administration of the Ministry of Planning and Finance.
DRI social business activities are focused on rural economic development, building business management capacity of rural producers and agribusiness. DRI aims to contribute to the national objective of economic growth and poverty alleviation. In aiming to achieve this objective, DRI adopts innovative approaches and methods to empower farmers, other rural producers and rural women with access to technology and technical services, banking and financial services, supply chain for agricultural inputs and equipment, market chain for agricultural final produce, and access to services available from government, private sector and development agencies. DRI works in strategic partnerships with other organisations to accomplish its business results.

DRI is seeking the services of a young and dynamic IT Specialist with 2-3 years of experience in working with system design for database, database application software, use of software like Excel and open-source software for performing data analytics, and basic understanding of ERP.
Key tasks are listed below:
1. Work under the direct supervision of the Chief Technical Adviser on technical work.
2. Develop professional approach to organising software applications most appropriate for DRI’s social business services.
3. Administer operation of ERP for the organisation
4. Develop and produce strategic business decision-making reports as per senior management requirement.
5. Train field staff on the Inventory Management Module of the ERP.
6. Administer Mobile app-based data collection and capturing of field level data of DRI work with rural producers
7. Train township and field staff in effective use of this the mobile app-based platform.
8. Work with data analytics for management decision making (using Excel based worksheets)
9. Manage DRI corporate website and update its content as per inputs from senior management
10. Manage DRI Facebook publicity, updating content as per inputs from senior management
11. Other specific IT system design and development tasks including defining work for external short-term consultants to provide additional inputs

Qualifications and experience
Candidates should have a university degree in Information Technology. Additional educational courses in business management would be an asset.
At least 2 years of practical experience in developing and maintaining software applications and system design. Some practical work on database applications and data analytics would be a competitive advantage.
Candidates must be willing to learn and acquire additional knowledge through research, on-the-job system design and software applications development work, and networking with IT/software experts in Myanmar.
Candidates must have good communication skills in Myanmar language with some degree of fluency in the English language.
Candidates must be willing to travel for work on assignments in the rural areas and small urban towns in Myanmar.
Reporting
The IT Specialist will work under direct guidance, supervision and advice of Chief Technical Adviser.
