Vanguard has developed a cross functional Support Services to provide support and maintains essential business processes across Vanguard. The aim of Support Services is to provide the best, most value adding services in supporting internal systems and project base requirements. The IT Support Officer is a key role in the Support Services team.

• installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
• monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues
• troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
• providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
• following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system supporting the roll-out of new applications
• setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
• responding within agreed time limits to call-outs
• working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
• prioritising and managing many open cases at one time
• rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers
• testing and evaluating new technology

Job Requirements

• Degree or diploma in IT, or equivalent experience
• At least 4 year and more experience as an IT Support Service role
• Strong knowledge in MS Window Server and MS OS
• A good knowledge of supporting PC’s and Windows servers and other Microsoft based applications including Office Suite
• Be familiar with TCP/IP networks and LAN/WAN infrastructures
• Knowledge of Databases, including the ability to maintain, set up and operate database servers
• Confidence and ability to understand and navigate new IT systems quickly
