RTM Infrastructure & Logistics Strategy: Set directions for warehousing & fleet infrastructure and logistics, in line with the business strategy and supply chain strategy.
Infrastructure, logistics and systems projects: Analyze current warehousing processes, productivity norms, layout designs and Material Handling Equipments to identify opportunities for improvement in warehousing, fleet and logistics, including automation (palletization, WMS, various MHEs). Pilot national improvement projects, drive and support projects to final implementation at pan India level.
Warehouse Management: Develop standard warehousing processes, norms and KPIs to measure and improve warehousing performance on sustainable basis; Make improvement action plans with the units and region teams, and monitor
Fleet Management: Develop fleet management processes including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, spares management, vendor development, fuel management, standard fleet body designs with graphics; enhance fleet capability and performance.
RTM Cost Management: Guide zonal supply chain teams on budgeting for distribution costs for the year including productivity improvements with “flat to prior” perspective; Monitor and control RTM costs vs. BP and guide corrective actions in coordination with the zones as required.
Develop and Manage third party logistics service providers: Identify national third party logistics service providers and vendors (For e.g. C&FAs, MHE, Storage Systems, transporters); Evaluate vendors and service providers on technical, commercial and capability aspects; Support procurement team in negotiations; develop strategic pool of capable third party logistics service providers
Safety and statutory compliance: Plan warehouse and fleet designs, processes and norms in accordance with safety rules and guidelines; Monitor statutory compliances and liaison with local team for closure of gaps identified in the audits; Improve logistics safety and compliances.
RTM team capability development: Identify training needs for warehousing, fleet and transportation teams (also support training needs of other functional teams in these areas); Prepare training modules; Carry out and / or oversee training and track effectiveness of training imparted.
