Position : National Researcher in Education and/or Agriculture
Duration : 40 days (full time)
Project Duration : 2 months (approximately), July – August 2019
Location : Yangon, Pathein and Shwebo, Myanmar

The Ministry of Education (MOE) and the National Education Policy Commission (NEPC) are proposing to expand access to quality higher education and TVET agricultural training programmes that directly respond to the skill needs of agriculture industry. This initiative will be called Transformation of higher education and TVET in agriculture in Myanmar (TransformAGR).

Responsibilities:
-Institutional Arrangement: The Consultant will closely work with three other National Researchers under the overall guidance of an International Team Leader;
-Undertake an in-depth literature review, analyse all reports, research papers and other secondary data sources to understand the current and long-term demand for agricultural occupations and skills in the Ayeyarwady and Sagaing Regions;
-Systemically assess all known agricultural production areas/sub-industries in terms of demand for occupations and skills;
-Presentation and peer review of reports by NEPC members and invited agriculture experts;
-Undertake consultations and research in the Ayeyarwady and Sagaing Region.

Qualifications:
-Extensive experience undertaking research and working in agriculture training programmes at both universities and TVET institutions in Myanmar.
-Good knowledge of the education sector in Myanmar, especially higher education and TVET sub-sectors.
-Fluency in English language will be an added advantage.
