MEBS Global, an international logistics and freight forwarding company, is seeking an Operations Manager for its Yangon office.
Candidate should have a strong logistics background, with excellent understanding of customs clearance for both sea and air shipments, river and road transport systems within Myanmar, and warehousing best practice.
• Responsible for managing all operations within Myanmar and maintaining overall high operational standards.
• Develop formal SOPs for MEBS Global operations in Myanmar, and seek to constantly improve those SOPs.
• Manage customs clearance process for MEBS Global shipments and maintain internal documents to outline that process.
• Maintain frequent contact with clients by email, meetings and phone to ensure clients expectations and requirements are clearly understood and action taken to ensure they are met.
• Maintain professional and general applicable knowledge of Myanmar laws and business practices that pertain the delivery of services, particularly pertaining to Customs Clearance.
• Establish new business relationships and assist in driving sales efforts.
• Build operational capacity by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
• Hire, train, and motivate new operations staff to maintain high degree of productivity, retention and to develop a professional team of international quality.
• Develop vendor lists and negotiate best tariff rates with transport, warehouse, leasing, and procurement vendors throughout Myanmar; renew and refine that information frequently.
• Perform site surveys, deliveries, and client or vendor meetings around Myanmar when required.
• Coordinate purchase and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment assets.
• Assist Regional Director in ensuring MEBS Myanmar compliance with all relevant regulatory and tax laws.
• Propose, implement and strictly adhere to Company procedures.

The candidate for Operations Manager must be a Myanmar national with excellent spoken and written English skills, a strong work ethic and an enterprising spirit.
A valid Myanmar drivers license, and experience working with either international logistics companies, UN agencies, or NGOs is required.The Operations Manager will be required to maintain and expand a portfolio of commercial, industrial and NGO clients; oversee the customs clearance, field logistics, and warehouse teams; and act as a focal point between MEBS Global, its clients, and local vendors.
Expected starting salary range is 2000-3000 USD, depending on experience
