Duties and Responsibilities


 Reconcile cash counter/sales report against bank statements and cash balances on daily basis. Analyze the variances in reported revenue and taking corrective actions where necessary.

 Coordinate with branch cashier and clear un-reconciled items.

 Record premium returns and insurance cancellation as per Commercial/Operation Department reports.

 Verify calculation of agent commission from commercial department and prepare payment voucher including journal entry for accrual.

 Reconcile monthly/quarterly/annual report for all premium revenue, stamp, and premium return reports from Operation and Custer service departments. Check usage of stamps thru confirmation and count.

 Verify Outward Co-Insurance, Refund, Bank agent commission, other agent of payment voucher.

 Review and record credit vouchers of branch premium revenue.

 Clear all Temp and Unknown banking balance. Identify status of each case and resolve immediately.

 Regular coordination with banks to resolve issues on unknown banking and other information on depositor’s detail.

 Calculate of Unearned premium based on IBRB regulation and IFRS.

 Liaise with internal and external auditor on all audit procedures concerning revenue.

 Prepare daily/monthly/annual revenue report, analysis and reconciliation.

 Preparation of journal entries of all transactions involving revenue accounting and reconciliation of revenue related Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.

 Perform timely and accurately monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activity.

Qualification

• Degree in Accounting/ Management or part qualifications in equivalent professional accounting Qualification like CA / CIMA / CMA
• Experience in Revenue Accounting or 2-5 years experience preferably in billing and accounting.
• Knowledge of IFRS 4 & 17
• Familiarity with Financial industry specially insurance would be an added advantage.
