Job Description

A Fantastic Opportunity for ...

• Manage up to four Field Supervisors that in turn work with seed Growers.
• The Senior Field Supervisor may also be required to manage contract seed growers directly.
• Ensure staff and farmers follow agreed production plans such as planting date, agronomic plans and quality assurance guidelines.
• Responsible to monitor and track grower performance either via manual or automated data collection systems.
• Responsible to ensure that crops and growers are monitor for performance in order to ensure quality standards and processes and are implemented and followed.
• Under the direction of the Seed Production Manager, be responsible to implement technical guidance to contract farmers and field staff of MAFSCO and to introduce improved farming practices to farmers.
• Supports the introduction and development of new crops and/or varieties.
• Work closely with Seed Processing, R&D/PD, Sales & Marketing departments
• Supervising seasonal part-time help may also be required.
• Work according to pre-agreed budgets and targets

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Myanmar national.
• At least a BS degree in agronomy, plant breeding, or related field
• At least 5 years field experience in seed production or technical agronomy.
• Previous experience in managing staff is required
• Must be mobile an able to travel
• Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and email
• Basic English skills (speaking, reading, writing)
• Good people management and team work skills

Relevant Industry Experience (Location of potential applicants)
• Seed production and/or agriculture extension experience an advantage.
• Technical sales staff for crop protection, fertilizer company’s, etc

Other Critical Requirement
• Must be prepared to re-locate to the production site, most likely in CDZ.
• The role will require frequent and extended trips to project areas.
• An ability to work under trying conditions in developing or less developed areas.
• Must have motorbike and/or car drivers license.
