Key Responsibilities & Duties
• Senior Manager Finance and Administration contributes to the overall success of the Association by effectively managing administrative, financial and management accounting services to ensure long term financial viability and fit for purpose corporate services, including records, information systems and administration. The provision of expert financial advice to CFO is a key responsibility on matters including cost and pricing structures, business and financial operating structures, funding models, cost saving strategies, as is development of strategic financial planning and savings initiatives and strategies.
• As a senior member of the leadership team, contribute to a positive, collaborative, innovative culture, including providing senior level input to strategic and business planning.
• Establish and maintain effective financial management ensuring sound business practices, compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements in relation to the Association’s finances are achieved.
• Review and analyze business cases and funding submissions and provide recommendations and advice relating to commercial viability, impact on the net cost of services and allocation of funds.
• Ensure the Board, Chief Executive and CFO are fully informed of the Association's financial performance. Develop and maintain systems to provide up to date and accurate financial information, including trust and grant accounts.
• Manage the annual budgeting, forecasting and audit processes, ensuring the successful implementation of audit recommendations.
• Manage the Finance and Administration team to achieve optimal performance, including the management of workloads and resourcing, performance management, constructive feedback and facilitation of ongoing professional and technical development.
• Responsible for the overall administrative functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization grows including:
• Reviewing and ensuring compliance with all contracts entered into by LEGAL.
• Manage the development and delivery of the administrative function, including records, reception and the central administration team to provide effective and efficient services.
• Manage accommodation and facilities, including property and services.
• Monitor and advise on the financial performance of organizational related entities
• Responsible for interpreting, negotiating, and resolving financial related matters and providing expert advice on business and commercial related issues with Executive Committee across the organization.
• Operates with significant autonomy within agreed work program and is fully accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of specialist advice provided in relation to budget development, management, reporting and statutory compliance.
• Allocates work, reviews performance and exercises delegated authority.

Job Requirements

Job Requirement & Specification
• Substantial knowledge of and demonstrated experience in management reporting, financial modeling, financial management and accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• A minimum of 7-10 years in Financial & Administration with progressive growth in responsibility.
• Prior responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.
• Experience working with endowments a plus.
• Prior experience supervising, coaching and mentoring a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to translate financial concepts to and effectively collaborate with programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
• Prior experience with grants management a plus.
• A successful track record in setting priorities and a multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats.
• Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
• Able to work extended hours, some weekends, and travel to the Blairstown Campus as needed.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external in a multicultural environment
