An Excellent Opportunity for ...

Frontiir is looking for senior software contractors who can develop Intel/Linux-based learning bridge and network access gateway with some customized network functions. The product will include basic command line configuration options but must support 100Gbps with 40+ million packet per second throughput. The project is expected to last between 6 to 12 months with possible extensions. Qualified candidates can work from their home countries but must be available to meet regularly online and travel up to once a quarter for face to face working sessions.

The candidate’s responsibility will be as follows
• Review prescribed specs and produce timeline to complete project
• Size and spec the system to help achieve 100Gbps/30+ miill pps
• Develop the product and give periodic updates to the Project Manager
• Arrange regular code reviews with CTO
• Conduct functional and performance testing and building testbed
• Document design and code
• Assist in first production deployment of the product

Job Requirements

The candidate must satisfy the following qualification requirements
• 2 years software development experience on the Intel DPDK platform and can demonstrate past success implementing high performance networking functions at speeds above 40Gbps
• Expert knowledge in Linux kernel, NUMA architecture, and cache optimizations
• Expert in Linux networking driver/module development. Experience in kernel performance profiling
• Basic knowledge of L2 and L3 networking functions
* Proficient and fluent in English
• Pluses: experience with hardware VXLAN offloading, latest microarchitectures from Intel
