This position partakes the responsibility in optimizing each operation to put products in the market, at the determined moment, location, conditioning, quantity, with services associated.
He/ she will be responsible for the operation of transport including:
Determining of the resources needed: staff, equipment, etc...
The usage of the resources: respect of the SOP, image of the Company, etc...
The daily management of the resources
The quality of the results delivered is measured with specific KPIs:
1- Management: Autonomous, communication, leadership
2- Technics: productivity, satisfaction of the clients, respect of SOP, set up of tools, set up of improvements
3- Financial: competitive costs, cost reduction
As the transport is 24/7 activity, the transport manager has flexible hours work in order to achieve his goals. In other words:
Must be ready to work during the night and during the week end
Must be ready to travel Myanmar wide
Basic Functions:
1• Handle the responsibility of the operations of transport (like a mini-BU)
2• Staff Management: team building, efficiency, effectively, capacity building, evolvement, rewards, respect of SOP, research of improvement, promote values (honesty, team spirit …) …
3• Develop a Logistics Mindset: think at the same time: global Company interest, and small very practical actions, be structured and organized with permanently the priorities in mind.
4• Develop Communication: Provide a clear visibility of the costs, functioning, risks & opportunities
Job Functions:
1• Anticipation: Have planning for activity, maintenance, staff management… (pro-active)
2• Agility: be ready to setup solutions at the best cost: support of aggressive action (marketing & merchandising actions), or strike of the employees/drivers, or city events.
3• Reliability: be realistic and pragmatic, and guaranty that each data/information is right, each planning and SOP is respected, maintenance is done with quality and what is decided will be achieved point per point.
4• Sustainability: each action (decision is action) must be long term oriented. Any repetitive issues must be systematically eliminated (solved) in order to avoid the facing of an accumulation of problems at the highest cost.
Key Results:
• Operations must be profitable: competitive costs, costs lower and lower
• Existence of:
1• KPIs: weekly and monthly communicated with regularity
Truck: existing quantity, daily used, shape, rate of usage, km, consumption, maintenance cost, cost per km, driver name, routes…
Driver: name, driving & events record, routes, lorry attendant associated, etc…
Financial: cost per piece delivered, cost per truck per piece delivered…
2• Planning: resources, maintenance, staff, OT…
3• Data base: list & data base of the trucks (characteristics), Staff follow up…
• Autonomy: must be able to handle the function and propose several solutions to her/his manager only when necessary
• Leadership: the drivers consider the Transport manager as a professional and a respected leader.
• Improvement: every week there is an achievement (planning, data base, problem solved…)
Job Requirements
Due to the capacity of communication needed, languages are essential: Myanmar, English, Chinese
Must be able to manipulate figures (ready to work on Excel)
Show significant achievements done by the past, and a personality of leader
Show accuracy and awareness to details (to guaranty the reliability)
Show a positive attitude and be solution oriented (logistics is always confronted to negative contexts and to difficulties)
Show the courage to tell when it’s wrong, to communicate and to decide (within limits)
Capacity to learn

Capacity to be responsible (response-able with pragmatism, at the relevant moment)
