​​​​Role Description

Yangon American International School will be organizing a Summer Camp for children ages 2-11 years old. The aim of the Summer Camp is to encourage children to have fun and develop extracurricular skills. Arts & Craft will be one of many activities that we are including in our program. The teacher will deliver the class to encourage creativity, sharpen visual processing skills and develop fine motor skills in children. Yangon American will provide all required resources. The teacher must ensure proper maintenance and usage of all equipment and supplies.  In addition, he/she is expected to be responsible for the health and safety of the children during the class. Children will be divided into four groups according to their age [i) 2-3 years, ii) 4-5 years, iii) 6-8 years and 9-11 years]. The Arts & Crafts teacher will work with all age groups except the 2-3 years.

Duties and Responsibility

• Plan and implement Arts & Crafts curriculum to be delivered for six weeks to children ages 4-11 years old.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities before each class.
• Maintain the resources provided by the school.
• Clean up the classroom after every class.
• Provide artistic expertise to the camp community on an as-needed basis.
• Ensure records are properly maintained, such as: attendance register, accident & incident report books.
• Accompany children off campus on the days of Field Trips. 

• At least 3 years’ experience in teaching Arts & Crafts to children
• Have excellent command of English
• Desire to work with children.
• Graduate of an Art Major preferred
• Must exhibit patience, maturity and dependability
• Ability to work in a team or as an individual
