ROLE PURPOSE

The main purpose is to carry out the credit review for Agricultural Lending Products and YTG. It consists of providing credit analysis of new loan and of the existing loan and performing analysis on relevant macro-economic, industry and regulatory issues relating to the deals as well as credit portfolio.
In addition, Assistant Manager will assist in prepare/review of weekly and monthly reports, perform ongoing analysis and complete other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This is a key strategic role in the credit risk team accountable for optimizing credit risk of a diversified portfolio of Myanmar’s leading customers who are the banks’ Agriculture and YTG customer segments.
  • Primarily accountable for credit risk assessment, decision, or recommendation for Agriculture and YTG credit in line with the banks’ risk appetite, credit policy and banking regulations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of risk assessment through appropriate business analysis and questioning
  • Coaching team members to develop banking and risk management
  • Partner product and Business Unit teams to optimize credit structuring to support customer’s requirements while mitigating key risks
  • Support implementing and managing policy, guidelines, and procedures to enhance business credit decisions, ensure early identification and management of credit stress/concentrations and optimize the risk reward of the portfolio.
  • High profile role required to present and make recommendations Executive Credit Committee (senior bank executives such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Risk Officer).
  • Support execution of Yoma Bank’s vision to build a better Myanmar
  • The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting training and develop of more junior credit resources
  • Perform other credit and risk related tasks/projects as assigned by Manager and Head of Department
  • Perform additional assignments, as necessary.

Job Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

Essential 

  • Consistently work on various projects, self-reliantly and achieved required obejectives with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work within a team environment, interact with peers and management within the bank as well as with the other departments

Education & Special Training

Preferred

  • University degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics or otherwise quantitative field
  • Preferable if candidate has industrial expertise in lending to Agricultural Sector and rural financial inclusion.

Experience

Preferred

  • Minimum 4 or 5 years’ work experience conducting in Analysis/underwriting of secured loans/ unsecured loans/Lending to Agricultural Sector and rural financial inclusion

Languages

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills besides strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in English Presentation and Communication highly desirable
