Job Summary

We are looking for a full-time Business Development Officer who will join our Business Development team to participate for finding business opportunities, organizing CV Database, establishing the relationship with consultants, leading proposal preparation and submitting to client. The ideal candidate will be creative, concentrative, a quick thinker and a fast learner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Search for new bidding opportunities via websites, newspapers, relationships, emails received etc.
• Lead on, write and project manage bids and proposals of MKEM consultancy.
• Coordinate bid input from a variety of stakeholders, specifically with counterparts in Hanoi (CVs, budgets, project data sheets…)
• Ensuring that bids are submitted on time and are as complete and accurate as possible,
  whilst also best reflecting the firm’s services and abilities
• Provides input into management information on the progress of existing opportunities and in-bid activity as required.
• Work on and promote bid best practice initiatives
• Coordinate clarification questions, forward to client and monitor responses.
• Work with the Manager to review and design MKEM resource library (reports, web links…)  and ensure consistency

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent written and spoken English and Burmese!
• Strong communication skills (confident on the telephone – prepared to hold calls and arrange meetings with high-level stakeholders)
• High level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email)
• Flexible, dynamic and able to meet deadlines
• Pleasant personality with interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, with little to no supervision
• Interest in the development sector

Please note: If you are interested in sales, marketing products, developing other businesses, then this is not the role for you. MKE operates in the NGO and development sector, which means we grow our business primarily by responding to tenders and not through pro-active selling. 

The Business Development Officer role at MKE involves helping to prepare budgets for our short and long-term projects, helping to find the right expertise, liaising with consultants and clients, as well as our partner network in the country.
