Job Description

A Big Opportunity for ...

  • Own financial planning, forecasting & analysis for MCB
  • Accountable for financial governance within the Bank
  • Partner with the Bank CEO to establish, build, implement, and drive growth strategies supporting the sustainable growth and expansion of the bank
  • Accountable for bank financial results including revenue, EBITDA, profitability, and net income
  • Lead financial statement preparation and external audit engagements
  • Implement and manage reporting processes for Board, Management and investors
  • Ensure Bank capital adequacy & asset liability management. Develop daily liquidity operating structure and processes. Oversee deposit operations, investment portfolio management, and related growth and volume activities.
  • Active stakeholder engagement including regular interaction with investors, Board of Directors, MCB executive management, and regulatory supervisors surrounding Bank operations and strategy execution.
  • Partner / collaborate with Bank capital markets leadership and corporate treasury group to manage overall company debt covenants, reporting, and strategic modelling and planning.
  • Lead and drive Bank capital allocation including overseeing investment in bank systems / capabilities and expense management targets
  • Implement and drive strategies to optimize bank Cost of Funds and portfolio mix to achieve desired short term and long-term financial outcomes
  • Support transactional structuring and review in line with Bank profitability and financial risk management
  • Establishing the financial and tax statutory accounts of the bank, as well as the regulatory, Group reporting for individual legal entities (Branches / offices) and in aggregate for the country (MCB)
  • Coordinating the local interaction and managing the local relationship with the appointed External Auditor of the Group and the bank, and relevant local authorities
  • Ensure that financial information is accurate, relevant and in compliance with accounting standards, CBM regulations etc.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's financial risk. Take active leadership in ALCO in ensuring the bank’s risk is monitored, managed and mitigated.
  • Monitor all financial risk and legal issues involving MCB and the adequacy of provisioning for these risks, if any is required.
  • Plan and manage capital needs in line with growth projections, risk parameters, provisioning requirement etc.
  • Actively contribute to ALCO to assist in managing funding, investments and returns thereof
  • Build and sustain an inclusive performance-oriented culture which attracts and retains the best talent at MCB and champions the people development agenda
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across MCB. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Bank Code of Conduct.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • B.com, Bachelor or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field ( CPA, ACCA is more preferred ).
  • At least 15 years’ experience in managerial positions especially in Banking business or related fields
  • Investment Banking products knowledge is required. e.g. Derivatives, Bonds trading etc.
  • Fully versant in bank regulation application and compliance, specifically as it applies to financial controls, operational oversight, and vendor management.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • A high degree of integrity and ability to challenge the views and actions of others in a constructive manner.
  • Sound understanding of international accounting standards requirements, business analysis techniques, risk management methodologies, project management techniques.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
