Job Description

Design and   Documentation Review

● Establish a thorough understanding of the Employer's brief   as the ultimate owner of the completed work 

● Contribute to procurement process; assist in contract   negotiations with potential Contractors and provide input on construction,   planning, and time considerations 

● Review and provide input into draft   contracts to assess constructability, sequence of works, proposed timeline,   EHS protocols, QA/QC processes and suitability of materials within  proposed contract 

● Proactively review drawings and   specifications in order to ensure that construction of works is executed in   accordance with designs 

● Establish   a thorough understanding of design specifications in order to verify that the   construction of the physical works and operations of project are in line with   specifications, drawings and Yoma Land quality standards 

● Ensure that appropriate records are   created, maintained and issued to enable contracts to be administered   following the agreements in place 

Construction Oversight and Quality   Control

● Manage and direct site-level work   efforts of contractors, suppliers and workers throughout construction

● Conduct regular site walks and   visual inspections of in-progress and completed works for quality and   sign-off

● Monitor and confirm that material,   equipment, and staffing from contractor and QA/QC site team are adequate to   complete the work according to the project schedule

● Verify that the construction works   are carried out in accordance with appropriate construction standards and   techniques and that the finished works conform to drawings, specifications   and YL quality standards 

● Address observed quality-related   issues or contractor non-conformances, flag and resolve issues in   coordination with contractors 

● Elevate complex issues which cannot   be addressed at site level to Project Manager and QA/QC staff on site

● Supervise   HSE personnel (internal teams and contractor representatives) to ensure the   site is compliant with project safety plan, protocols and regulations

● Intervene   when necessary to take immediate action to resolve HSE breaches and mitigate   future risks

● Continuously improve standard   operating procedures, health and safety guidelines and quality control   measures

General Project Management

● Prepare, update and share programs and schedules including   the weekly schedule, 3 week look-ahead and monthly updates 

● Organize and plan works ahead of time (both on and   off-site) to mitigate risks and resolve emerging problems 

● Monitor and provide direction to Contractors to ensure   sufficient manpower/resources are on site when needed

● Verify that the Construction Manager's and Contractors   subsequent programs are submitted, reviewed and approved following the same   logic, sequencing and timing

● Plan, attend and chair a variety of meetings including the weekly Contractor Kick-off meeting and Quality and Safety meetings   involving Contractors and relevant staff from the PM team

● Prepare and issue internal and   external reports regarding the progress of works including manpower,   equipment, safety, quality, Daily Reports, Weekly Reports and progress of   critical trades

● Assist   the Project Manager in controlling the costs of construction works and staff   with a particular focus on foreseeing and minimizing variations and remedial   works

● Assist the Project Manager in   obtaining approvals, permits and licenses; act as the point of contact with   the site team and Contractors for Authority inspections and approvals

Strategic and Technical Leadership

● Interface with the Customer for site walks during the   construction phase and assist in understanding and remedying defects during   the DLP and guarantee phases

● Build and maintain positive working relationships with   professionals of different disciplines including internal teams, the Employer, Contractors, Suppliers, and   Consultants 

● Establish accountability on a project level by taking   responsibility for issues, finding solutions, following through to resolution   and holding project team accountable to do the same

● Create and implement   innovative solutions to problems and consistently seek to improve existing   work methods on construction projects

● Apply   international best practice to Construction works

Team Management

● Proactively build relationship and   promote a sense of team and teamwork within the site management team,   Contractors and workers

● Proactively implement a culture of   learning within the site management team and with Contractors

● Assist the Project Manager to create specific goals for site based   staff and with performance reviews based on job descriptions

Additional responsibilities

● Contribute to   special projects and assignments as requested by management to maintain,   promote, develop and expand the business of the estate and its interests

Job Requirements

● Bachelor’s   degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or relevant   field

● 5+ years of cumulative experience in construction management

● 2+  years supervisory experience directing a team in a project environment

● Advanced English skills (verbal and written)

● Project Management certification
