Position : Consultant on Assessment of Existing Agroforestry Practices and Training Curriculum Development

Deadline:  17th June 2022 (Friday)

  • Will work with the Forest team to access the current agroforestry practices which come along with findings capacity gaps of community facilitators and agroforestry technicians who are working as primary field implementers and suppose to generate review report at the initial stage of the work. 
  • Expected to also develop a training curriculum which completely reflect the initial findings, to align with the demands of the project and to recommend the most potential demonstration plots design (preferable with recommended crops)  which meet the expectations of the stakeholders that come out during series of interview under the assignment.
  • Expected to do trainings of climate resilient and gender sensitive agroforestry practices with particular aim to project staffs, partnered CSOs’ representatives and the key trainee: agroforestry technicians whom are selected from the project villages.
  • Should there be travels, in several parts of Myanmar outside of Yangon, related to this engagement, WWF will shoulder the cost.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree and bachelor title in agriculture/forestry or related studies with at least 10 years of experiences in the implementation of agroforestry projects (different combinations of education degrees can be considered based on their field experience). 
  • Strong applied work on ecosystems similar to those present in Myanmar.
  • Previous experience working in Myanmar is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of Myanmar and Karen language dialects is a valuable asset.

Knowledge, Skill and Competencies

  • Proven understanding on research methodology, agroecology, agroforestry, and designing of agricultural calendars.
  • Awareness of the socio-political and economic context of the country.

Ability and Personality

  • Promoting team synergy in a multi-cultural work environment.
  • Demonstrating initiative and ability to identify innovative approaches.
