On behalf of our Client,  a leading market expansion services provider, we are looking for a Corporate Affairs Director to be based at their offices in Yangon, Myanmar.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with the regulatory community, legislators, insurance trade associations, and employer and agent groups at the country level. Be mainly responsible for planning, communicating, advocating, and executing a proactive corporate and government affairs strategy that advances the mission and goals of the company
  • Oversees and manages departmental operating budgets and costs
  • Establishes public affairs strategy and deploys action plans which align with government laws, regulations, and standards
  • Leads analysis of proposed legislative actions determines the potential impact on the business and develops appropriate responses
  • Leads, directs, and guides all public affairs activities including but not limited to government relationships, media, and corporate social responsibility, especially to manage good reputation and image of the company in view of associated authorities and all committees and represents and protects the organizational interest
  • Serves as the official spokesperson to the media or in public hearings
  • Provides and prepares research and talking points for top executives in preparation for meetings, interviews, and other activities
  • Plays the key role in consulting the public affairs and communications to the functional departments in the daily operations
  • Takes the leading role in the guidance of the relevant functional departments to solve the issues arising before and after standard audits and external inspections
  • Handles work under the assignments from the Management Board

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

• University degree in any major subject

• At least 10 years of a senior role in multinational companies

• Exposure to strategic planning activities with good business insights and in-depth knowledge of Professional Regulatory laws and regulations

• Must understand the legislative process and the local network and must have an existing good relationship with local media

• Knowledge of risk management, media, and government relationship management

• Excellent command of the English Language

• Willing to travel as business trips
