Job Description

The Country Director (CD) will be a part of the Studer Trust management and leadership team, helping to facilitate, develop, and coordinate the programme and activities in Myanmar. The CD will have direct representational and managerial responsibility for the Myanmar programme and team, within institutional policies and delegated authority. The CD will report to the Board of the Directors that is based in Hong Kong. The keys CD’s responsibilities include:

  1. Running Teachers Training Center in Mandalay (Education)
  2. Budgeting/Planning and Construction of school buildings and smaller projects in cooperation with committed communities (Project Management)
  3. Managing a team of 9 in Myanmar, reporting to the Board of Trustees in Hong Kong (Leadership)
  4. International and domestic donor relationship management, fundraising (Marketing)

This full-time position will be based at Studer Trust's Teachers Training Center facility in Mandalay, with travel throughout the local area and the country as required.

Job Requirements

  1. Between 3-5 years of demonstrable experience of project implementation, including planning, monitoring and evaluation systems.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of budgetary systems and 3-5 years’ experience of managing project budgets.
  3. At least 1-2 years of experience of submitting clear written reports to donors and other parties. Preferably Education and Marketing experience.
  4. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal with experience in cross-cultural settings
