Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

Manage end-to-end lifecycle of all databases commissioned by the organization. Ensure that all critical databases are operating with high stability, high availability and high security measures. Minimize the unplanned downtime of critical databases and avoid impact to internal/external customers
Provide day-to-day operation and maintenance of databases hosted on-premises and in cloud: Oracle databases, Microsoft SQL databases, MySQL databases, MongoDB databases and MariaDB databases
Perform lifecycle management of both financial and non-financial databases: implementation, configuration, performance fine-tuning, troubleshooting, installing updates/patches, capacity management and decommissioning.
Manage data availability services such as Oracle RMAN backup and restore, Oracle Data Pump export and import, Oracle RAC, Oracle DataGuard, and MySQL database synchronization, etc.
Manage data security services such as Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall, Database Audit Logs, and Database Password Policies, etc
Provide 24/7 on-call support for database operation and to ensure maximum availability and security of databases
Develop and maintain documentation for all activities such as planning, troubleshooting, implementation and operation
Coordinate with internal teams such as NOC team, network team, system team, application team and change management team
Establish and enforce processes, policies, procedures and checklists related to database management
Perform monitoring and maintenance activities regularly, review the results and report to management periodically
Identify and respond to any issue related to databases and manage the investigation, mitigation, and recovery of the issues in compliance with the predetermined SLA
Engage in improvement projects, often requiring reaching out to a variety of third-party vendors and internal support teams, and deliver the projects in predetermined time line without compromising quality
Manage all third-party vendors for database management
Manage high availability and disaster recovery of databases
Perform database access management and manage database security
Develop and maintain proper documentation for database management
Perform capacity planning and project management related to databases
Manage tactical and strategic activities for databases with focus on continuous improvement
Follow database technology trends, research and suggest new technologies
Contribute toward excellence in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment

Job Requirements

BSc in Computer Science or Information Systems
Extensive knowledge and experience in Oracle database systems (Version 12C and 19C)
Familiarity with the infrastructure the databases are hosted - such as servers, virtual machines, SANs, storage and networking
Knowledge of database management tools and monitoring tools
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Capability to provide innovative ways of delivering both immediate and long-term solutions.
Problem-solving skills
Communication and interpersonal skills
