Job Description

  • Ensure the Hotel group Brand Service standards are consistently practiced by all team members
  • To be fully conversant with the Hotel Emergency and Evacuation procedures, ensuring all Front Office personnel are competently trained in such procedures and to conduct regular emergency procedure checks as required by your Manager
  • Supervising all Front of House Activities.
    • Assisting all Front of House Areas as required: -
    • Reception with Check-in and Check-out
    • Concierge, Luggage Porters and Driver
    • Telephone Operator
    • Other areas as and when required
  • Maintaining a high level of morale within the department by assisting and supporting the team and processes put into place.
  • Coordinating with other departments within the hotel regarding customer requirements and future bookings.
  • Ensuring that all guest complaints are dealt with immediately. All complaints to be handled efficiently and professionally with complete follow-up so those guests leave and return with a good impression of the Hotel.
  • Attend daily morning briefings with Head of Department.
  • All incidents to be recorded on an Incident Report form and emailed to General Manager and Head of Departments.
  • Ensuring full handover on a daily basis to team members as to activities taking place and logistics of the operation.
  • Meeting and maxi missing revenue through up selling, developing new clients and ensuring current guests become regular guests.
  • Monitoring and ensuring cleanliness of the Front of House area.
  • To be fully conversant with manual Front Office procedures to be used in the event of the Hotel’s computer systems being off-line.
  • To be fully conversant with Hotel room type and availability, assisting guests with reservation inquiries and bookings as may be required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures by all team members.
  • Ensure grooming within the department is in line with the Hotel policy.
  • Ensure the wellbeing of the Front Office team.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all credit procedures and ensure that these procedures are adhered to.
  • Must know all Hotel products and services and actively recommend to our guests.
  • Continuous coaching and counseling of team.
  • Review work schedules of the Front Desk, Telephone Operator and Concierge.
  • Review all guest arrivals and ensure that rooms are assigned according to the reservation and preferences.
  • Ensure that there is a thorough hand over at the completion of each shift.
  • Ensure all Front Office correspondence is completed within 24hours.
  • Motivate colleagues and create a team environment through living with Hotel Policy.
  • Be a leader to be looked upon and act as a showcase of proper attire and behavior anywhere near the hotel premises. Speak highly of the hotel at all times and emphasize these same values with your subordinates

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity

  • English (4) skills requirement.

  • Good communication and customer contact skills

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and training skill

  • Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times
