Job Purpose:

Engineer, Marine Operation Support mainly coordinates various marine and logistic operation activities and interfaces both internal and external concerned parties to support marine and logistics operation. The jobholder acts as a focal point or partner for special assigned projects of marine and logistics operation to ensure smooth collaboration and understanding among concerned parties, and to ensure strict compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures.    

 

Key Accountabilities:

Marine Activities

  • Coordinate and support various marine and logistics operation in operating assets e.g. marine vessel movement, and administration works, mooring pattern.
  • Maintain, update, design, and advise mooring pattern for operating assets to ensure the smooth operation and minimize potential risk of loss or damage.
  • Act as a focal point for special or assigned project to ensure smooth collaboration among concerned parties.
  • Coordinate and liaise with all marine users for providing any marine advice and supporting routine marine operations to improve communications among the Company’s operating projects, drilling & well service, Logistics Operations and etc.
  • Update marine field instructions, including pipeline and anchoring charts, mooring plans/arrangements for tender support vessel, and record of all marine in the field.
  • Monitor and control MGO consumption of AHTS and Crewboats.
  • Audit all vessels on a regular basis ensuring Company’s standard and SSHE regulations are met.
  • Provide advices as the marine expert/specialist.
  • Verify all vessels, Rigs, Barge etc. for Entry Permit application for offshore marine operation.
  • Monitor the meteorological conditions of ocean routes in liaison with weather forecast operator.
  • Ensure out all works under responsibility are performed in conformity with the Company’s SSHE rules and regulations. 
  • Act as Tropical Cyclone Advisor. Monitor weather condition, supervise barge and rig evacuation plan. Manage and coordinate marine vessel to support personnel, accom. barge and tender rig evacuation.

Job End Results:

  • To guarantee, at all times, that all offshore marine and logistics activities are carried out in safe manner. Ensure PTTEP standards are met and maintained, and the SSHE is not compromised by poor working standards or procedures.
  • To ensure smooth, timely and efficient support to field operation activities.
  • To utilize vessel in cost effective manner and optimize MGO consumption.
  • To promote a good communication channel between the different concerned parties (offshore and onshore Logistics) in order to maintain and enhance operation’s efficiency.

Job Requirements

Professional Knowledge & Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certificate of Master Mariner Class 1
  • Experience in offshore marine operations, support vessels and Oil Company Marine Logistics are advantages
  • Familiar with marine logistics technical development
  • Experience in composition of procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of search and rescue operations
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods legislation is an advantage
  • Good command of both written and spoken English
  • Computer skills is required

  • Fit to offshore medical standards
  • Able to converse with people at all levels
  • Safety minded and able to supervise and motivate personnel
