DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Being a part of a senior leadership role within risk division and collaborate with key stakeholders in first and second line to meaning uplift and support the bank’s strategic priorities
• Exposure and opportunity to work with Department Heads and Chiefs to recommend strategies to manage risk
• Take a leading role in resolving operational risk incidents at Yoma Bank head office/branches as per Incident management framework
• Lead in performing operational risk assessment at Yoma Bank Head Office/branches
• Lead and review the control testing plan/strategy and carrying out the key control testing as part of operational risk assessment in Head Office/branches
• Coordinate with senior management in performing operational risk reviews for Head Office/branches
• Report operational risk issues and decisions to senior management on regular basis
• Develop strong relationship with key stakeholders within the bank and branches by addressing issues/concerns in timely manner
• Investigate root causes of head office/branches operational risk incidents and provide support to mitigate risk
• Assist Head of Operational risk to develop/review KRIs mapped to various risks
• Improving awareness and culture across the head office/branches via branch visit, training and case studies.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Knowledge & Skills                  

• Knowledge of financial markets in Myanmar, gained through practical experience.
• Adequate knowledge of Myanmar local regulations
• Have high level of attention to details.
• Have strong organizational skills and time management abilities
• Adapts easily to new environment and can work with a variety of people
• Strong communicator (both written and verbal) with ability to present to senior-most management in a clear and concise way
• Outstanding influencing/negotiation skills and ability to manage debate and conflict professionally, with grit and tenacity.
• Excellent team worker, collaborating effectively across regional and global teams in sharing ideas, finding solutions and balancing team priorities.
• Organized, with strong attention to detail &ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Education & Special Training  

• Degree in one of the following fields: Business/Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, and/or any industry specific qualification

Desirable

• Bachelor Degree in Business or Finance
• Knowledge in data analysis and risk management

Experience

• At least 3-year experience in financial institutions
• Knowledge of banking and risk management within the bank

Languages

• Sound and effective interpersonal & communication skills
• Sound English skills
