Position Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for achieving optimal guest satisfaction and a good working environment to attain all set objectives. To achieve this, the Hotel Manager should run the hotel in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures and Policies as set out by the company.

The General Manager shall see to the implementation of optimal and attractive products and services required to address the hotel’s target groups, based on pre-agreed marketing plans and budgets. The Hotel Manager shall ensure the correct production and distribution of information and promotion materials as agreed to.

Excellent revenue management skills with experience of budgets, P&L’s and forecasting. Working with colleagues to share skills, knowledge, resources and networks. Highly focused, have excellent communication skills, be motivated and professional in appearance and presentation.

 

Job Description:

  • Monitors the co-ordination between all departments for smooth & efficient operations.
  • Assessing and reviewing customer satisfaction and service recovery process.
  • Meet all department heads to review & train the staff to upkeep the human capital.
  • Identifying staff learning needs and assisting with development.
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback to all direct reports as and when required either formally or informally.
  • Monitor and maintain operation & overhead cost in order to maintain maximum revenue to the organization.
  • Be on available on call 24 hours a day to resolve any urgent problems on emergencies.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the operation of the hotel.
  • Serves as “Manager on Duty”.
  • Provides other relief or back-up duties as needed at the hotel including front desk coverage, housekeeping and other duties to ensure the optimum operation of the property.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • A university degree in hotel management or a related field preferred. Minimum Five years as Genral Manager in HOTEL Industry with related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preopening experience preferred.
  • Demonstration strong leadership and motivational skills is important for the hotel operations when supervising employees. Strong communication skills are also essential in meeting the needs of the customers and making sure their stay is a satisfactory one.
  • Ability to organize multiple projects; manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and speak the English Language and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Organization.
  • Ability to effectively communicate professionally with guests, associates, supervisors, and others as required for optimum operation of the property.
  • Strong leadership with a creative yet professional image.
  • Achievements that show resourcefulness, initiative and the ability to multi-task.
