ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

Yoma Bank's Business Banking Division seeks an experienced Project Director to drive and deliver a functional Business Loan Origination System (LOS) that automates and manages the end-to-end steps in the loan process – from the application, through underwriting, approval, documentation, pricing, funding, and administration. 

 

Expected features of an LOS to be delivered:

  • End-to-end automation of the lending process - centrally orchestrated the workflow from lead management to disbursement and then to servicing.
  • Single unified interface - reduce manual error and operational lags as well as provide customers with a consistent and standardized experience from the organization.
  • Digitize manual and paper heavy process - easily capture information in digital form, which can help with control, retrievability, traceability, and archival. Also drastically reduce cycle time and manual errors.
  • Seamless integration with core banking systems - seamlessly integrate with their core banking and legacy systems. They should be able to automate several parts of the process, such as credit score validation, lead management, and blacklist checks.
  • Automation and configurability of credit policy - A business rules management-based automation engine to automate repetitive process scenarios and empower the workforce to focus on higher-value transactions.
  • Handle compliance through proactive management - proactively manage compliance and orchestrate processes for better traceability and audibility.
  • Accelerate deployments - provide flexibility to make the solution work in Yoma Bank context and environment, to provide the benefit of faster time-to-market.

Expected outcome of a successful LOS implementation to be led by the candidate:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Strategy – Develop and partner with key business lines/stakeholders and IT resources to develop joint Business Loan Origination System roadmaps. Integration solutions should support business goals while delivering speed, efficiency, and security. Conduct regular roadmap reviews with partner IT and business units to ensure full coverage across the project portfolio.
  • Innovation – Promote and develop a culture which embraces technology innovation. Staying up to date on current trends and emerging technology solutions. Provide training opportunities for leadership and staff to ensure teams are prepared for the future.
  • Business Relationship - Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure solutions created deliver innovation and drive business growth. Foster collaboration and modernization across all levels within the team/organization.
  • Organizational Alignment – Partner with leaders across the organization in development of overall LOS roadmap strategy. Establishing ongoing relationships to ensure balance between Technology and Business initiatives/roadmap. Maintain a large focus on organization change management/readiness, including effective challenge to legacy processes and practices. Support the modernization of technologies and solutions.
  • Delivery - Drives delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics to identify areas of opportunity. Leverage industry proven frameworks to deliver continuous improvement and support enterprise priorities in respect of the LOS.
  • Vendor Management – Build and maintain strong vendor relationship with current and potential engagements. Ensure teams are effectively managing key relationships. Hold vendors accountable to defined SLA and contractual commitments, while maintaining professional working relationship. Responsible for financial management of vendor engagements and recurring cost.
  • Management/Coaching – Provide direct people management, coaching, and mentorship to members of LOS Product Management and Analyst teams. Ensure associates receive proper training, development opportunities, and effective and timely feedback.

Job Requirements

  • Forward-thinking strategist who is dedicated to empowering staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Fluent in technology solutions, with a preference for experience within large scale financial institutions.
  • Strong vendor relationship skills and adept at program governance. Experience collaborating with vendors and maintaining professional relationships during sales, implementation, and support cycles.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at the Executive level.
  • Ability to lead a technology team that uses an agile development process and structure to ensure high quality, timely delivery of features and innovative enhancements in conjunction with other teams.
  • Experience in Financial Services industry, implementing and supporting lending technology solutions, with extensive technical knowledge of loan servicing applications.
  • Working knowledge of loan origination systems, collection systems, internal and external system integrations, and lending policy
  • Experience assessing and monitoring technology performance related to application and infrastructure.
  • Experience contributing feedback for business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Strong experience working between multiple projects simultaneously, with varied degrees of complexity and duration.
  • Must have strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to define and solve complex business problems.
  • Must be able to confidently interact with technical, non-technical, and management staff.
  • Collaborative and team player attitude with excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate meetings and working sessions between assigned lines of business, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, and other various teams.
