Major Functions
The Head of Climate and Energy will focus on creating the enabling conditions for a major shift in energy transformation in Myanmar resulting in large-scale renewable energy investments. He/she will also lead our programme of work to ensure nature-based solutions (NbS) for climate resilience, including climate adaptation, is embedded in our conservation strategies and to promote WWF’s credibility as a leading organisation on NbS and climate-related activities in Myanmar. The position will also play the role of coordinating WWF’s sustainable development cluster to create stronger synergies between the cross-cutting themes of sustainable infrastructure and sustainable finance, and our main four thematic programmes: forests, wildlife, freshwater, climate and energy.
There are nine sectors he/she will perform as major duties and responsibilities, which are 1) Climate, 2) Renewable Energy, 3) Leadership, management, and coordination, 4) Fundraising, 5) Communication & Networking, 6) Project Development & Implementation, 7) Issue Resolutions, Crisis/Risk Management, 8) Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting and 9) Strategic synergies with Myanmar and International teams.
